   About The Little Heroes

The Little Heroes-Thank You

"WE LOVE IT. We really do. There's jagged pieces of Jimmy Eat World, Silversun Pickups and Saves The Day poking through string sections and big crescendos, the kind of sweeping melodic Valium that makes our stone-cold hearts like Coldplay"

-Billboard

"Wow. It's quiet, it's delicate, but it still drives like The Stills' best moments and brings to mind Death Cab if Ben Gibbard were more into Son Volt or the Jayhawks."

-Space City Rock

“It always seems like the best music happens when bands find a way to combine their earliest influences with their latest sonic incarnation without compromising either one. The Little Heroes are a case in point. The Little Heroes hit a lot of sonic touchstones on Cinematic Americana but still interject a good deal of their own experience into their sound, giving the album an atmosphere of inviting familiarity but engaging freshness."

-Amplifier Magazine

"The Little Heroes have taken big steps with this album. The band’s rock element is quite apparent on the gorgeous, shimmering “New End Game” that has a definite Replacements-ish bounce in its step, at times letting the guitars lead the way with the vocals and drums trying their best to play catch up. Perhaps the biggest surprise is how well they pull off the epic-like Coldplay or Snow Patrol-inspired “Come On” and “Made You”."

-PopMatters

"You know how some singles just have that gorgeous air about them? "September Falls" is like diving into a bath of frothy raspberry vegan milkshake. With a very harmonic melody, this single is so radio-friendly it hurts and so stunning it stops you in your tracks. More please."

-Black Velvet Magazine

“The Little Heroes are the new Promise Ring…..James Lombardo's vocals are superlative, sometimes breathy and always emotive. Many bands aspire to an honorable first album. Few achieve it. Hail America's Little Heroes. Cinematic Americana drops March 20.”

-Pop Magazine

“The Little Heroes' Cinematic Americana album hooks you in with "Flight Plans for Airplanes," a soothing alternative lullaby. The song is sweet, soft, and short enough to leave you yearning for a little more. "Come On" is the kind of song you cry to. The kind of song that makes you think about everything you've done wrong and want to make right.”

-Playback Magazine

“The guys in Little Heroes are off to a good start with this album. The playing is tight and inspired and the songs are instantly catchy and upbeat and could very well appeal to a broad range of listeners.”

-Babysue

"Flight Plans for Airplanes" is a sharp opening song, all calm singing, affecting melancholy and, to the song's immense credit, a concluding string segment that's swift and dramatic rather than an overblown wash. Meanwhile, the penultimate song "Made You" is a striking number that calls to mind the Catherine Wheel's best moments of elegant feedback apocalypse.”

-Allmusic

"To sum it up, Cinematic Americana is a collection of songs that might just be the perfect soundtrack to a teenager's dream summer.....songs like "September Falls" and the more down-tempo number "Come On" make for an innocuous listen that leave this Swede chanting "USA! USA! USA!"

-Lost at Sea

"Opening track "Flight Plans for Airplanes" is a down-tempo country tune featuring some great wispy vocal overlaps and the occasional piano plink. It sounds like it could have been lifted straight from the Cash Brothers' 2001 release How was Tomorrow. Single "September Falls" is a thumping slice of Americana. In the verse, James Lombardo's vocals show Michael Stipe's influence on his melody and timbre, but when he opens up in the chorus, he makes the song his own. The middle eight half-time works well and swells into a great outro complete with call and response vocals. They can all play their instruments, not least drummer Adam Caldwell, who puts in an ultra-tight performance. This is a strong debut album and the band would be well worth catching live. You may find yourself really warming to this album."

love the softer, more acoustic sound you guys are putting out in 'back where you came from'. probably my favourite off the new album yet.
