The Loft is formed in 1997, where the two members of the band, Jakob Weise Hellum and Martin B..ge Pedersen, meet each other at a music school. One year later they start working with Henrik Lund, the former owner of Easy Sound Recording in Copenhagen. .... In 1999, the band produces three songs for the soundtrack of the movie "Den Eneste Ene" which goes double platinum. .... Following this, the band works intensively on material for their debut album and in June 2004, they release their first single "City Of Dreams" which includes a sample from the song "Midt om natten" by Danish artist Kim Larsen. The single goes gold, reaches the top of the airplay chart as well as the dance chart and is the most played song on Danish national radio P3 in 2004. The video for the song is shot in New York City and nominated for a Nordic Music Award. .... In August 2004, The Loft's debut album "No Ordinary Man" is released, and the second single "Forever" becomes a massive hit as well. .... The band is on tour in the spring and summer of 2005, while beginning to record their second album. The album in general has a more rock sound and feel to it. The Loft has written, produced and mixed the album in collaboration with Henrik Lund. As on their first album, the rapper ADL is featured on several songs.
