Frank sings, and plays guitar a bit.
Aaron plays guitar a bit more. Brady plays bass, sings, and hits drums a bit.
Matt plays drums a bit more.
Influences
Frank's mostly influenced by alcohol, RHCP, The Hives, Nirvana and Wagner.
Aaron's mostly influenced by blues, Clapton, Hendrix, SRV and paisley shirts.
Brady's mostly influenced by Radiohead, Muse, Depeche Mode, Interpol and Franz Ferdinand.
Matt's mostly influenced by beer, Arctic Monkeys, AC/DC, Spiderbait and rugby.
we're all influenced by REM. we do a pretty sweet cover of Everybody Hurts! yell out a request at one of our shows and Aaron will be delighted* to oblige.
Sounds Like
Well, Frank's voice sounds like the lovechild of Jim Morrison and Ian Curtis, and Brady's gets confused with Matt Bellamy's. Once Frank's mum thought that Brady was the singer when Knights Of Cydonia came on TV, which is a compliment I guess.
Aaron sounds like a blues guitarist, but that's okay because the rest of the band doesn't. Matt sounds like the Ringo Starr of hard(er) rock, except without the splendid baritone. Frank is truly the John Frusciante of rock music. Except, like, with rhythm guitar? And Brady plays a lot of notes, but you can't hear them because he's the bassist.
tl;dr - They're good, so you should come to one of their shows. Seriously, you'll cum diamonds really really enjoy yourself in a completely family-friendly manner.
What, exactly, is a LoveBuckle?
Is it something you put on your belt?
Does the love really buckle? Has it already buckled?
Springing up from the sprawling industrial wastes of northern Brisbane, The LoveBuckles are the bottled essence of four guys playing music, in a garage, at a party, battling to be heard over the fifty-or-more drunken teenagers stumbling about. To put it another way, they're a whole lot of loud fun chaos-funk-rock. From 2005 onwards, Frank’n’Brady have decided to use their combined lyrical and musical powers for good, not lame. Eventually a full lineup was settled upon, with local newsagent provocateur Aaron’s guitar lines being deemed awesome, and Matt’s drums being deemed necessary for the band’s survival.
The LoveBuckles are currently looking for more gigs, a few grand worth of recording time, and anything else that can be thrown our way; maybe not bottles. If you haven't heard us live, do yourself a favour and come to one (or more) of our gigs. It'll be a lot of fun, promise!
