About The Narrow Escapes

This is the band I started in 2002, as The Romeo and Juliet, with my little brother. We made a cd entitled "Prima vera" on my laptop using the internal laptop microphone and Acid Pro. It was very lo-fi to say the least! The "band" soon turned into a solo project and I went to college. I made many more songs under the R&J moniker befiore turning to The Narrow Escapes with my first "real" album "I am a Bird's Eye View" in 2003. I came up with the name The Narrow Escapes while in high school as a possible name for the band I was in then. We were at the prom! The year I didn't have a date. I think I went to 4 proms. Anyway, while not given any proper release it seemed to be given an ok by the people that heard it. I especially liked "nothing matters but beauty" and "poor me". I did almost everything bymyself except for the help I got from Evan Archer who is in Troubles With Argonauts with me. I soon followed up IAABEV with "Lightning Strikes Twice Everywhere I Walk" in 2004. This is definetely the best thing I have done so far TO ME and a lot more people have gotten to hear it than my earlier projects. I believe it waws even played on the radio! WOW!. Recently I have aquired a drummer named Paul and we have played 2 free shows at La Tazza Fresca in Austin which went pretty well. We played old and new songs. UPDATE BITCHES MARCH 2006! the 'scapes have been recordand playin' showssss! we now have stephanie bonham on board and its been really keen...we played our best show at the house of commons and it was recorded so i'll put up some of those mp3's soooon...2 shows should be coming up one at alex's and the other on KVRX...the new album is going to be called RIDING A BIKE AT NIGHT and has songs like go go little dinosaur and snakes comin' at me from every direction UPDATE MAY 2006 WUT UP TNEers? I'm just sittin thinking I should add more STUFF to this thingie...well...the most important stuff going on is that we'll have a split single comin' out with MERMAID BLONDE aka PAUL which will contain two new songs...one is live from the house of commons show...also CHERRYADE records will be putting us on their Christmas Comp in December (I assume) in Lancaster, England...SOOOOO we just might go tour over there if possible....I'll keep ya posted BRIT-FANS UPDATE NOVEMBER 2006 Christmas comp......soon there will be something aqbout it somewhere you must trust me...new album....new split....TOUR....since last I typed here we now have a bass player LACE her cutenesss knows no bounds

The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. I'm touring the UK for the first time in June with Kevin Montgomery, and then right back to New York for a show at the Lincoln Center on the 29th with the Texas Playboys. I hear my name is originally English.........."All-sup"-meaning everyone raise their glasses and drink up!!! It took me 75 years, but i'm finally making there.
