The artists who struggle and sacrifice just to share their gift with the world. The artists who do it without the help of a major label. The artists that understand that the true spirit of urban music is not how much money you make, or how much jewelry you have but working with what little you have and still making good music.

I don't care about age one way or the other... but at the same time, I do know someone like Bow Wow ain't gonna appeal to me.. but not cuz of his age...cuz of his lyrical LACKABILITY.. and the kid was on Snoop's "Doggystyle", I'm sure he got PAID for that classroom skit, so nobody's gonna convince me he's had a hard day in his life. That said... I agree that I don't support most younger artists because I just can't relate to them... funny, dude's that are "young" now can't rock an older crowd, but in 1986... 25 year old's Run DMC were even making 30 year olds reconsider listening to rap. I thought it was HILARIOUS that KRS actually had the balls to go on youtube and support Soulja Boy... does Soulja even KNOW a KRS One song? On the other hand... when Snoop was 21 on Doggystyle he was giving props to Biz Markie and Slick Rick.

Mar 14 2009 10:49 PM yeah... but the thing is.. 50 isn't ALWAYS bad... i mean, I'm not a fan of him, but some of his verses ARE fucking hot as hell (Realest N!99az, We All Die One Day) and one thing I DO gotta give 50.. is he IS good on hooks... love the man or hate him...you gotta admit he's good on hooks. It's just his general writing that is redundant, old and not creative... not to mention dude gotta start beef with EVERYONE just to stay relevant. THAT SAID... go listen to Proof's "Forgive Me" and tell me that 50's hook isn't beautiful for that song. As long as Em puts a GOOD verse on there... or keeps 50 on a hook, I don't havea problem... NOW... if he spits some shit like he did on Crack A Bottle, then we got a problem.
