The Notations, a Chicago based vocal group which consists of members Clifford Curry, Robert "Bobby" Thomas, Michael Thurman, and Marcus Gentry, have established themselves in the same sphere of the music industry as other legendary R&B groups such as Gladys Knight and The Pips, The Temptations, The O'Jays, The Whispers, The Impressions, and The Dells. Their smooth vocal harmonies and sophisticated style have earned them a place in music history.

The Notations were included in a book about Chicago R&B artists titled "Chicago Soul" by Robert Porter. During the mid seventies, they were signed to Curtom Records, a record label established by Curtis Mayfield (Of "The Impressions" fame). Prior to Curtom Records, they were assigned to Twinagnt Records, a Chicago based label established by Peter Wright and Howard Bedno.

The Notations broad spectrum of musical material provides sound to accommodate the listening ears of both adult and young audiences. Each member can switch from lead to background vocal which certifies their musical versatility from up-tempo dance tunes, to smooth stepping, to romantic, to laid back easy listening ballads, which is the signature trademark of the fine group.

As a group they enjoy producing new sounds and love meeting real down to earth people. At present, The Notations have established a musical production company, "Still Here Productions." The sole purpose of the company is to expand across the Midwest region, and throughout the country and overseas, along with the production of their own music material which is a treat guaranteed worth waiting for.
