"Imagine the big wall of sound a la Smashing Pumpkins, but without Billy Corgan’s self absorption and big shiny head." -Domenick Moore, Shinbone Magazine
"Buy this CD. Go see them live... This is new music from young craftsmen that needs exposure." -Scott Flax, Editor of North East Music Organization (NEMO)
"Their compositions are dynamic; the arrangements are precise and expertly executed." -Jim Kanavy, Sharp Magazine
"Kelso lists 90s It-Girl and Lilith Fair headmistress Sarah McLachlan as an inspiration, and you can hear the similarities — they both have throaty, smoky voices. Kelso, though, is her own woman with her own protean voice: temptress; gamine; broken hearted"

******************
Formed by guitarist Karl Strauss and singer/pianist Shelah Kelso, The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy instantly gained critical acclaim in their local music scene of northeastern Pennsylvania by independently distributing and selling their music as well as performing throughout the region. PQF experienced regional success attracting the attention of local radio stations and music magazines with their first album "The Great Escape" EP. "Putting on 'The Great Escape'..is like slipping through a portal back into the alt-rock days of the 90s, but with less flannel and far less whining. Kelso is her own woman with her own protean voice: temptress; gamine; broken hearted. Imagine the big wall of sound a la Smashing Pumpkins, but without Billy Corgan’s self absorption and big shiny head" [Shinbone Magazine review].
Now based in Los Angeles, The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy released their first full-length album, "(r) evolution", which is available on iTunes, Amazon, and other on-line music retailers. “(r) evolution” has received an exceptional response comprised of rising download sales and heartfelt fan comments and stories. Defining their line-up-- which currently includes vocalist/pianist Shelah Kelso, guitarist Karl Strauss and bassist Hanna Kondo, this enthusiastic and hard-working group continues to keep moving their career forward by playing shows and gaining exposure to reach their goal of touring the US and overseas.
The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy's "Live Until My Life Runs Out" has had radio airplay on northeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey's 95.1 WZZO. Other songs, including "The First of November" and "Mirror, Mirror", have had radio airplay on East Stroudsburg University's WESS 90.3.
The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy's Shelah Kelso is native to Arizona but spent all of her high school years in Burbank, CA. In addition to being a musician and songwriter, Kelso has worked as an actress on independent films such as "M.O.G" (2006). Guitarist and songwriter Karl Strauss is from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Music Recording. Additionally, Strauss has arranged and performed almost all the drum tracks for PQF's studio recordings.
