   About The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy

WHAT THE PRESS IS SAYING ABOUT PQF:

"Kelso lists 90s It-Girl and Lilith Fair headmistress Sarah McLachlan as an inspiration, and you can hear the similarities — they both have throaty, smoky voices. Kelso, though, is her own woman with her own protean voice: temptress; gamine; broken hearted"
-Dominick Moore, Shinbone Magazine

"Their compositions are dynamic; the arrangements are precise and expertly executed."

-Sharp Magazine

"..Go see them live.. This is new music from young craftsmen that needs exposure."

-NEMO (North East Music Organization) PA

"..the coolest band I've heard in a long, long time."
-Dave Strauss, Host of Flat Cat Radio

******************

Imagine music greatly influenced by 1990's alternative rock: extremely dynamic with intertwining guitar and piano melodies that support passionate and powerful female vocals.

Formed by guitarist Karl Strauss and singer/pianist Shelah Kelso, The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy instantly gained critical acclaim in their local music scene of northeastern, Pennsylvania. The band experienced regional success attracting the attention of local radio stations and music magazines with their first album "The Great Escape" EP. "Putting on "The Great Escape,"..is like slipping through a portal back into the alt-rock days of the 90s, but with less flannel and far less whining.. Imagine the big wall of sound a la Smashing Pumpkins, but without Billy Corgan’s self absorption and big shiny head" [Shinbone Magazine review].

Now based in Los Angeles, PQF released their sophomore album "The Mourning After" EP in April of 2009. Defining their line-up-- which currently includes vocalist/pianist Shelah Kelso, guitarist Karl Strauss, bassist Scott John Miller and drummer Kio- this enthusiastic and hard-working group continues to keep moving forward in a positive direction by playing shows and gaining exposure to reach their goal of touring the US and overseas.

The Patchwork Quilt Fallacy's Shelah Kelso is native to Arizona but spent all of her high school years in Burbank, CA. In addition to being a musician, Kelso has appeared in various independent films and shorts. Bassist Scott John Miller is from Redbank, New Jersey. In previous bands he opened for Sponge and Traci Gunns. Drummer and Musician's Institute graduate Kio was born in Japan but spent many years in Seattle before moving to L.A. Guitarist Karl Strauss is from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA with a degree in Music Recording.

THANK YOU for all the kind words and great stories you've shared. Music is what we live for and it means the world to us when somehow our music reaches your hearts and lives.

Follow your dreams,
