So.....Christmas is over and with it comes the longest hangover ever, sometimes called 'January'! To ease the pain we have our first gig of the year on 29th Jan. To celebrate the end of Jan and the real start to the year, come join us, have a dance, let your hair down and forget all you January blues!
BAND BIOG:
1st gig review of The Philbys, 93 Feet East, London, October 15th
If you're only going to see one new band this year, make it the Philbys, says inthenews.co.uk's Elise Pithouse.
With only a few gigs behind them, they managed to excite the audience within seconds of beginning their set. Their initial jitters quickly faded as their sound exploded from the stage. During an interview earlier in the evening, they came across as humble and sincere. Their passion for creating original and meaningful material was confirmed the moment they stepped on stage and exuded confidence and control.
First up was their forthcoming single, Freefalling, released on iTunes on October 27th. Produced by Neil Davidge, who has worked with Massive Attack, this track instantly got the audience excited, whether it was the dedicated fanbase or the new faces in the crowd. After a few songs, it became apparent how tight this band is, even after only a few months of playing on stage together. The different sounds merged together in beautiful harmony, ranging from the moving and almost hypnotic to the lively and impulsive. I like the fact that they're not afraid to pound out their creations with enthusiasm and inspirational energy.
The commotion surrounding the Philbys in recent weeks may have just begun but it's not going to fade away anytime soon; this is not just another new alternative rock band. This is The Philbys.

well I waited a long time to hear you all live in one of shows, and I tell you what I was not dissapointed.
That was one WICKED performance last friday @ Soho Revue Bar.
We were blessed on this evening with the utmost professionalism from all the acts who performed.. I had a great time listening - how often does a live organiser/promoter says that about their own showcase ?
We would have you back anytime in 2009.
RESPECT from the SEB Collective to Free Falling and to a band such as the Philbeys
