Black leather vest, boots and bolo ties adorn this classic posse of country musicians. Power of County is the inception of classic country story telling with the speed and aggressiveness of rock n roll. This is not a new band but one who has found and lost themselves again and again. Their lyrics are highly reminiscent of days gone by reflecting chaos, excess, lust and murder all mixed with instrumentation that is exceptional on its own. So grab a shot of whiskey, kick your boots up and enjoy.
During the summer of O7, they successfully supported Jim Goad in opening for the national act Hank Williams III. Since then, Power of County has opened for national acts including the Sadies, the Knitters, and Or, The Whale. Based out of Portland, Oregon the Power of County has been lauded by regional press as punk rock cowboys on a mission to bring Western back to Country.
P.O.C.'s new, third full length album "See You in Rock 'n' Roll Heaven" on the Union Records has been critically acclaimed and received international attention, and was recently given an honorable mention by Twangnation's Best Albums of 2008
Reviews: "Power of County have ...produced as fine an album of ass whuppin’ country rock as I’ve heard in a long time. In less than 30 minutes this album covers all the bases with frantic country rockers and booze soaked ballads. Death, prison and greed all figure." Paul Kerr, Americana UK
"(T)his is an exceptional in ya face take no prisoners Country album full of the licks and kicks that most contemporary Country music lacks. It is absolutely ornery with tobacco spitting arrangements with great tempo changes that call out for the listener to keep up. How could you not like this album, it calls out for a party, so pass the bottle of whiskey and lets dance! You have won us over with this cd, yes definitely impressed us all." Peter Merritt, Acid Country PBS Australia

Please submit your artist news and events to CountryHome Forum to help your artists to get well known better in Europe. I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks
Christian

Hello, after an unfortunate hiatus, the reasons for which are probably best not gone into here, we finally have some new music on the AUK MySpace site. For your listening pleasure this month we offer Nathan Oliver, Conrad Ford, the irrepressible Todd Snider and the delightful Beccy Owen. Don't forget too, for those of you within striking distance of Leicester, Electric Dustbowl 2 on 19 September.
