Simon Griffin (Griff): Keys/Samples/Programming/Bass/Double Bass/Guitar
Simon Griffin (Griff) is producer of an energetic mix of Electro, Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, BreakBeat.
Also a member of Hong Kong band "Violent Jokes". Griff's musical roots are Rock, Punk, Reggae. Decided to delve into a different area of music. Into something which he always wanted to get into. From this idea he created "The Projects". A creation from his own alter ego. A way of expressing his own individual way of working, with a desire to reach out to the underground music scene.
Inspired by live Drum & Bass and Electro he creates original tunes with cool beats and hypnotic grooves.
In 2006 he played a one off set in the UK, to try and get an idea of how people would react to his music. He decided to get together with two Drummers and play a live Drum and Bass set based around the structure of some of The Projects ideas. The reaction was fantastic and on this positive feedback he was offered a date at another venue.
Then moved out to Hong Kong where he's played live shows with both "The Projects" and "Violent Jokes". The response is good. A scene is created.
The Projects recorded the first album, "Mixes & Fixes", to gain success in the UK, European and Japanese markets. The debut single Something Big up North was a test and did the business in the UK Official Download Chart.
Already gaining access to clubs in Hong Kong, Italy and UK, The Projects are getting the music heard around the world and have the dedication, focus and ambition to succeed.
