As a young child barely old enough to tie his own shoes, the young Eric found his love for Hip-Hop and of course, the expression of rap. It wasn’t until high school when Eric became Emassin nick named by fellow crew member Charles a.k.a. Ceerock.
Emassin, San Fran native and long time member of the infamous underground crew ELEMNOP, is breaking out with his first solo album early 2007. Produced by Ceerock, one of the most innovative and up-and-coming producers in the Bay Area lays out this debut album with a soulful yet street-inspired resonance. With years of M.C. experience and his hard earned rise in the world of education and community organizing, Emassin tells all in truth through his rhymes. Emassin’s mucky yet impeccably polished social consciousness blended in with Ceerock’s soul bounded jazz rhythms generate the undeniable sound and long awaited arrival of the Purple Yam Café.

Thank you to all the people who are on the album: Ceerock, Jaymac, Hopie, Tiki, Rymo, Enoch, Geezy, Bobby Mcferrin, Jesse Spano and The Allen Parson's Project. With this album you will get some very good music. Expect some Hip-Hop but more 80's rock more than anything else. I even have an early Blues song on the album where I'm singing the whole time, which is one of my favorite songs right now.
