WORLD FEST GALA NIGHT FANTASTIC REGGAE SAT, 23rd May, Middlesbrough Town Hall, 8pm
WorldFest 09 celebrates diversity in the Tees Valley and showcases world class talent. Later that same night the Beta Simon Band will play in the Town Hall Crypt – Beta Simon (star of African and French reggae) and his band played at WorldFest 08 and were a huge hit with the crowd – they got the night off to a dancing start.
RIPPLE EFFECT "Keeping things conscious and following up their rather eclectic and experimental album Roots All Sorts, the MDV have just birthed a dynamic and vivacious live sound. Once again seasoned with that grounded MDV rootsy signature, the essence of this album speaks commandingly yet beneficently. The songs illustrate the bands live proficiencies - a steady resonance of authentic Roots Reggae, very often abandoned by the sounds of today. Ripple Effect is an intelligent and fresh assemblage of brilliant tunes with a slice of instrumental experimentation. Enjoy!" -AMF68
"A new age has begun for the human race, go now and prepare World Children but know that it will not be easy, yet we shall overcome. "

Community League hits you with 7 tracks for your listening pleasure.
Special Opps, aka The Wack Emcee, hails from Springfield, Massachusetts. The Wize, DJ Thundercat and Jokes come from the hip-hop hotbed of Oxfordshire, England.
Together they have devoted their energies to Community Spirit, revealing their love of nature, their bewilderment towards politics on both sides of the Atlantic, their complicated relationship with money, and most importantly the little known fact that Wize and Opp were once Kings of New York for a day.
Community Spirit got made over 4 years with hundreds of back-and-forth communications over the interweb. 2 shows in England together, one day conquering New York, a few games of Pro Evo, croquet, and ping pong ...Finally it hits the streets.
