What 37-year old comedian stars in the new Comedy Central series, "The Comedians of Comedy Tour" (as well as in the independent film of the same title out on NETFLIX), is in Variety's TOP TEN COMICS TO WATCH, has been the talk of Montreal, Edinburgh, Aspen, Kilkenny and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and was voted by Comedy Central viewers as one of their Top Ten Favorite Comics?
ME! MARIA BAMFORD! That's who, sweetpeas!
Now I will go on about myself in the 3rd person!
Maria started her performing arts career in Duluth, Minnesota at the age of 11 where she starred in the Chester Park Elementary production of "How the West Was REALLY Won!" (Conservative message that didn't include the perspective of indigenous nations). A short 24 years of self-discovery and secretarial work later, look at her now! She is certainly on some kind of predestined journey!

She also performs comedic voiceovers! She is a series regular on the animated Nickelodeon series' CatDog and BARNYARD and has been a guest star on Oxygen series Hey Monie!, the Cartoon Network's Home Movies and played a spider in Charlotte's Web II (a straight-to-video deal.)
And recently, Maria landed a role as "The Neurotic Farm Wife" in the upcoming animated feature by Steve Odekerk, BARNYARD . Some of her other credits include, STUART LITTLE 2 (small part), LUCKY NUMBERS with John Travolta (pretty big part), Dharma and Greg (very small part) and The Trouble with Normal (medium-sized part). Yeah, pretty awesome, huh?
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who is friendly, laughs at my jokes (or at least most of them) and is on myspace.
you were absolutely incredible in Tempe(i dont know how to pronounce it) but you should come to University of Dubuque, i might have a show on Feb. 2nd but it all depends on the comedian the university chooses wants a local opening act.
im so excited for november 1st, im flying into tempe from dubuque, Ia. i would love to meet you if i could, im officially a private in the U.S. army going active duty and i would love to meet you.
your style and artform is incredible, you are my hero. Theres only 2 things that lead me to do stand-up. a dream of being your opening act, and a dream of being your opening act.
dear maria, u sent me a comment back in 07. to say the least it made absolutly no sense. but it encouraged me to keep on keepin on. im currently in the navy now. im sure u dont even remember me but i still aspire to be a comedian and people like you, posehn, oswald, and cross still inspire me. im hoping my navy travels all over the world will give me material to work with. once again thanks for the nonesense and thank you for just being you. keep on keepin on........ sea-recruit Justin Hopkins
I just can't get enough of you. I went on to Amazon (is that cheating 'cause I really don't mind giving you my money?) and ordered your previous two cds and the Comedians of Comedy dvd.
Thanks for adding me. I voted for you to come to Fresno, CA; number 12. I think I need to rally the troops. Not that you would want to come to Fresno. Hmm. Maybe if I open and close my fist in odd intervals.
Your comical humor is so great. Love listening to it. It's so original and authentic and real.
How's Erie treatin ya?Our mutual friend Jerry Villella is emcee'ing your show tomorrow night. He's pretty funny himself, but you'll out superfox every one!
I was watching a "comedians of comedy", when you're in front of the Lincoln Memorial doing your "come on America" speech, when you go into baby talk I end up on the floor disabled in fits of laughter! Thanks for all the funnies.
