What 37-year old comedian stars in the new Comedy Central series, "The Comedians of Comedy Tour" (as well as in the independent film of the same title out on NETFLIX), is in Variety's TOP TEN COMICS TO WATCH, has been the talk of Montreal, Edinburgh, Aspen, Kilkenny and Melbourne Comedy Festivals and was voted by Comedy Central viewers as one of their Top Ten Favorite Comics?
ME! MARIA BAMFORD! That's who, sweetpeas!
Now I will go on about myself in the 3rd person!
Maria started her performing arts career in Duluth, Minnesota at the age of 11 where she starred in the Chester Park Elementary production of "How the West Was REALLY Won!" (Conservative message that didn't include the perspective of indigenous nations). A short 24 years of self-discovery and secretarial work later, look at her now! She is certainly on some kind of predestined journey!

She also performs comedic voiceovers! She is a series regular on the animated Nickelodeon series' CatDog and BARNYARD and has been a guest star on Oxygen series Hey Monie!, the Cartoon Network's Home Movies and played a spider in Charlotte's Web II (a straight-to-video deal.)
And recently, Maria landed a role as "The Neurotic Farm Wife" in the upcoming animated feature by Steve Odekerk, BARNYARD . Some of her other credits include, STUART LITTLE 2 (small part), LUCKY NUMBERS with John Travolta (pretty big part), Dharma and Greg (very small part) and The Trouble with Normal (medium-sized part). Yeah, pretty awesome, huh?
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who is friendly, laughs at my jokes (or at least most of them) and is on myspace.
Oh, Bammerdoodles, how I love your Anxieties song, as I have the same ones and then some. Iiiif I make sure the refrigerator door's close then I won't spontaneously combust. If I crack my knuckles when I'm driving then I won't have overly sexual thoughts about wrecking on purpooossse... Haha. Your show on SuperDeluxe is genius. <3
I swear I've watched your show on superdeluxe.com at least 112 times by now. I put it on before bedtime. Only problem is the scary Halloween one freaks me out sometimes... :P
Your show was supoib! I especially loved your global geography lesson. And thanks for doing "non-sequeters from your mom". Vivacious cist is funny no matter how many times I hear it.
Was I sitting in the same row as your mom at Acme last night or was it just a coincidence that this woman looked like an older version of you and had a straight face during most of the "family" jokes while everyone else in the audience, including me, were laughing? (wow, that was a long sentence)
Thanks for a great show at the ACME club! You're just as amazing in person during your shows and after. Thanks for lettin us get a pic with you too! My sister is gonna be so jealous! Now we'll be quoting you even more, if that's possible. You Rock!
Maria! It was awesome seeing you two nights in a row at Acme. It was also great meeting you and taking photos. As soon as I get them developed, I will send you the photos.
Definitely contact me at the email I gave you and we'll talk more about making some videos next time you come through. Also, are you going to post the info about the motorcycle rally where your dad will be imitating you? I would love to see that.
Thanks for hanging out and singing stuff as well! You're certainly my favorite comedian that is still alive, so keep it that way! We will both conquer and defeat death soon.
Dear Maria, your show was real good tonight. I was fortunate to have been seated uncomfortably close in the first row. Dream come true? Ohhhh, you betcha. I was wondering though, if you know the last name of the dude who went on right before you. I tried but all I can come up with is Jim....ssssSomething.
