  • Bio

Many years ago, on a commune in the Sierra Nevada mountains, an open D chord was strummed on a 12 string guitar with 8 strings. That night, amongst the manzanita shrubs and a pond we fondly called "Mel's", a passion for sound was born. That chord was so tantalizing and so deserving of more exploration. It caressed all of us there that night. I never knew what happened to them, but I do know what happened to it. The chord neatly placed itself in my soul and has resided there ever since. From time to time it has an opportunity to share itself with the world around me and I do what I can to oblige. Obviously an Open D is not this chords only manifestation and over the years it has grown to be quite an array of sounds. And I believe that it has taken a place in the hearts of those that have listened to it. I shall never take credit for it. I am only a means for it to express what needs to be shared. I am certain that this entity, from so many years ago, has great appreciation for the fellow humans it has expressed with along the way. I know I do...JK .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

  • Influences

Just about anyone who can sing and play worth a damn. We dig lot of stuff individually, but here are a few that we seem to agree on most of the time: JJ Cale, Widespread Panic (Houser Days), Neil Young and his projects, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Stone Roses, Sea Horses (RIP), The Cure, Pinback, The Dandy "Too fuckin' cool" Warhols, Brian Jonestown "Way fuckin' cool" Massacre, Spiritualized, The Black Angels, King Black Acid, The Grateful Dead (77'), and many many more to come...enough for now.
  • Sounds Like

A frantic folk song that was lost in the woods and by the time it found it's way became so much more.
