Heroes
Real Talk! At this point I'm my greatest heroe. I could of chose such a simple middle class life, but instead I want it all. And I'm going after it, so watch out!
Therone Shellman is an author, online radio host, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur. Some say he is gifted, talented, a messenger, and different than most because he has been awakened and knows his purpose.
Therone first started reading when he was about twelve years old. From there he has always been captivated by words and the powers they possess to move people. By the time he was seventeen years old he realized that he wanted to write to books.
The two years of 1990-1991 during his four years of incarceration were Therones defining moments. It was then that he written the first draft for “Love Don’t Live Here” his first novel. It would be not until over a decade later that Therone would follow through with his passion. As fate would have it 2003 was not his time to shine. Realizing that he was not knowledgeable enough about the publishing world he bowed out to partake in study and rewrite the story. Eighteen months later he returned with the revised edition of “Love Don’t Live Here”.
Out the gate the story shed light on a writer who just doesn’t wish to entertain readers, but also enlighten them as well. Therone had no idea, but soon found out that the book because of its very personal and spiritual nature appealed mostly to Christian, family orientated women and those really concerned about the state of relationships and family. Therone also found a male readership who appreciated the stories straightforwardness and non fiction feel. At first his idea was to just market the book to the urban lit and the younger market, those in their teens and early twenties. But after the third month he realized those who gravitated to the story were older, and. more experienced in life matters.
Once readers began to realize that Therone was not just a writer, but also very knowledgeable about history and politics opportunities started to open up to do book signings and events everywhere from the church and religious centers, community activist meetings and business meeting gatherings.
His second novel “No Love Lost” is considered to be one of the most realist reenactments of street life affairs on the happenings during the crack era in N.Y. for the period of the late 80’s into the early 90’s. One reviewer of the book mentioned in so many words, “If you do not know about the streets if you read this book you’ll learn why things happen.”
Therone brings true love to the craft in the same manner he loves life. He is a writer by all standards who loves the spiritual essence of words, for they are the breath of life. He reads mostly non fiction, and it shows with how vividly he expresses the thoughts of his characters. His third title, Love.com which he co-authored is a story totally different in nature than his first two stories as the characters are not portrayed as being African American. Struggle is always the theme in all his stories. But this time the struggle is about being a good person and not losing your goodness even though the people around you don’t respect your goodness, the world seems to loath your existence. Yet you must continue to look ahead and believe there are good people out there, and the world is essentially good. Love.com is hilarious at times, but yet very serious because most men could not be the man Harold the main character is, and most women cannot accept that men go through the same things they do.
Growing up rough Therone had to manage his life like a business so it’s no surprise that he would write a title on self publishing. The Secrets of Self Publishing is a booklet, but yet it has all the information one needs to know about self publishing. Therone remembers his experience in 2003 when he first sought to self publishing “Love Don’t Live Here”. The anguish and anger he felt for knowing what he needed to do was enough to make him hit the books and do some studying so he would be prepared in the future.
“Survivor” I Changed the Rules Part 1 his autobiography and upcoming release will be to this date Therones most important contribution to the world. It is not just about his life, his story is a true testament about how strong the human spirit is and how the Creator resides within all of us to be able to do things we may think are impossible. Therone is neither dumb, death and blind or six feet in the grave. But yet if the naysayers and statistics would have their way this is where a person like himself should be. From the start at birth he was set up to fail. One day he woke up and decided that his life and fate was his to determine.
Due to his past personal hardships, Therone is a firm believer in human rights and the right to free expression. Literature is the last frontier to this thinking and right. And at all costs it must be protected. The day we give up this right is the day the world will become dark and ignorance will rule.
In order to finish the work he has set upon Therone has decided that Third Eye Publishing the company he established in 2005 will concentrate on publishing his works solely. There will be other services the company will provide as well. The company will move toward being mostly independent, and not governed by distributors and the monopoly of the book world. As of Jan 1st Therones self published titles will not be available through any mainstream distributor or wholesaler. All titles will have to be purchased straight through Third Eye Publishing. The company will still deal with distributors who deal with only the library market, but will not deal with any mainstream ones who deal with the book store market. Therone believes, “libraries serve to better humanity and without them the world would be such a horrid place”.
Therone by all standards is considered a master marketer, master salesman and visionary. He has been one to follow by other independent authors. The course he sets in 2010 toward independence will be one which sets standards, be an example and model for other self publishers. Therone in the past has influenced the NYC street market in regards to sales of African American books. His titles were distributed to the chain retail stores as well. He has travelled the whole east coast on author tours, and been on the west coast as well. There are not many who understand the publishing world like he does at such a young age. He is sure to leave a mark on this industry within his lifetime which will not be forgotten.
When you purchase a title written by Therone Shellman you support his vision in the power that literature can play in human development, and how we can utilize entrepreneurship to invest in ourselves and the community. Therone is not just a committed writer and entrepreneur. But he is also committed to the service of our Creator and the advancement of the human race. Literature is the bridge he will utilize to serve his life’s work and purpose.
Therone writes every day and works on many projects simultaneously. If you’re an established publisher or literary agent looking for manuscripts Therone has work for sale. Just send an email to: admin@thirdeyepublishing.org Just write seeking manuscript in headline.

To Live And Die For Nothing by Therone Shellman
A person who lives for nothing then has nothing to die for. What’s the worthy price for ones life, to die in the streets like a dog by a ghat or knife. A world within a world where we are born a boy and girl, but, somehow change into something subhuman and strange. The chase is on the lust for that thin green paper is so strong enticing everyone to come-come along. It’s a joy ride and high until you end up in jail or possibly die. Sell, drugs, mug, stick up and be a thug. Life’s a bitch and then you die! So who gives a f—k? What?…What did I hear you say, go to school set goals and become someone one day. That sounds so lame. I want what I want now the future seems so far away. What’s the meaning of life anyway?

"If we as a nation are ever going to achieve that status of true greatness, then we must be courageous enough to deal with matters pertaining to race and racism, without seeking the artificial cloak of denial as some sort of safe haven."
