The Scourge of River City has come to an end. We have been lucky enough to play some amazing shows with some amazing
bands and put an album out.
Nothing macabre, we all feel it is the right thing to do.

"Often lumped in with the psychobilly scene, presumably due to their
effective use of
double bass, Norwich -based four-piece The Scourge
of River City actually peddle a muscular blend of HOT SNAKES snarl and
MURDER CITY DEVILS melody, topped with the taut, DANZIG -
indebted vocals of lead shouter Greg Gittins.
The more upbeat tracks on this self-titled debut mostly resemble early
OFFSPRING - all
polished choruses and soaring backing vocals - but the
jangly Lonesome Tide and almost introspective Heart's Horizon show the
band's versatility, both as a tight and inventive group of musicians and as
strong songwriters. So, not psychobilly then, just damn fine anthemic
punk 'n' roll."
