The Sea - NEWS
JUNE 2009 - Following the release of their debut album.. GET IT BACK... The lads
are to shortly release another blistering NEW SINGLE AVAILABLE FREE FOR ONE DAY
ONLY VIA DOWNLOAD FROM THEIR WEBSITE! WATCH THIS SPACE FOR DETAILS!!!
After delighting gig-goers with their first
four singles, The Sea delivered their
acclaimed debut album, released via Lusty Records. The album which
has received high acclaim from the music press (Kerrang amongst others awarding
it 4 K's out of 5) has all the power and energy that is the sound of THE SEA .
Proving themselves to be favourites with praise from The Fly, Music Week, The
Guardian, Radio One and Kerrang! plus live dates with The Zutons, The Gossip, The Holloways, Santogold, Lightspeed Champion, The Enemy, New Young Pony Club, Good Shoes and The Rumblestrips, this Cornish duo are successfully cementing themselves as an exciting new band both on the live circuit and through their recordings.
The recent release of their last single 'Love Love Love' and 'Say it
Again' (a double A Side), the lads have toured constantly throughout the UK
doing live radio sessions and interviews, gigging hard and enjoying every minute
of it!. They are now out to the USA again for SXSW and then back for a tour of
Europe before getting back into the Sawmills to record some new material.
before the festival season kicks in for this year.
2008 saw them complete an East Coast tour of the U.S.A
and Germany. Where in New York they were selected by CMJ as one of the Top Ten up and coming bands and featured in the CMJ Monthly Magazine
and their cover. This follows The Sea being chosen by CMJ as Band of the week.
The worlds of fashion and music have always been entwined, and the brothers have attracted the attention of prestigious designer Zandra Rhodes. Zandra who famously designed for Freddie Mercury, Marc Bolan and Debbie Harry has chosen The Sea to be the first band she has designed for in 25 years. A staple of the fashion industry, her creative, extrovert designs are perfect for the boys’ rock and psychedelic sensibilities.
The Sea recently released a free download track with ex-Babyshambler Gemma Clarke’s current band The Krak, a cover of Prodigy’s ‘Out of Space’ that the two bands performed together at Glastonbury Festival. Plus the next few months see the duo doing a series of House Invasion gigs around the country, alongside their normal live shows.
Their debut album 'Get it Back' was mixed
by legendary John Cornfield (Muse / Razorlight / Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong).
