Sounds Like
And the melding of grinding metal and American punk is etched across all five tracks, the guitars providing the metallic edge to back up authentically angry vocals that fall somewhere between the DC punk scene and Dave Grohl at his most shouty, especially on standout track My, My Personal Ennui. With all the corporate pap and plastic posturing masquerading as ‘punk rock' at the moment, those in need of the real thing could do worse than point their ears in The Shadowcops' direction. They're ready when you are. - Manchester Evening News
It sounds like The Shadowcops have got their act really together. Their previous demo had maybe just a few obvious references, but this time they have a mini album bristling with original, compulsive rock songs lined with brutally sharp edges [...] The Shadowcops have just joined the ranks of Manchester's already ignited punk legions – invasion anytime soon. - Manchester Music
Practised and meticulous the essence of hard rock and spunk fuelled rage is embraced and churned out with an industrious and artistic belief second to none on the local scene. In fact The Shadowcops are really turning heads at the moment and hence my anticipation of this 5 track creation [...] A challenge and a joy to review just like the live shows – go see em' now – its enough to make the old bones shake. - Fungal Punk
According to their press release, The Shadowcops set out to be a "no bullshit, just 100% rock" band, one that combats the current trend of "shoe-gazing, boring as fuck bands who spend more time trying to look like a rock band than actually sounding like one". And you have to say, they do it pretty well. - Leeds Music Scene
We are safely back in Melbourne where it's freezing. But hey, it was all worth it. Next year we should definitely rock the stages again somewhere else. Thanks for everything. Your help was greatly appreciated and if we can ever return the favour, just ask. Also, tour Australia, that'd be nice. Rock!
