March 2007: In an almost dead Raleigh, NC punk scene, members of Destroyed Tradition, a Raleigh street punk band, decided to start The Shotdowns. This five-piece punk band contrasts its' fast tempo and angry sound with sincere lyrics, all while giving off a pissed off, yet positive attitude. Their influences range from 80's Hardcore and Street Punk to Operation Ivy and early 90's Punk Rock. They have opened for bands, such as, River City Rebels, Time Again, The Independents, The Murder Junkies, Hub City Stompers, Flatfoot 56, Hoods, and some more of NC's finest. With their strong DIY ethics, The Shotdowns have booked a tour without any label support. This band is young, fresh, and ready for any bumps the road ahead may bring. Their first recording, Anthems EP, is for lovers of real hardcore and true punk rock. This is the sound your hungry ears have been waiting for.
