“Disarmingly beautiful music.”
-The Inlander
Since her emerging, Suzie Bradford has been hailed as a truly special talent. A provoccative vocal style, paired with sensitive yet intricate lyricism, has established her as a genuinely unique and refreshing artist. Inspired by singers such as Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan & Aimee Mann, this Washington born singer/songwriter developed her own style with the help of years of vocal/choir training.
Formed in late 2003, with bassist/guitarist (now husband) Ben Bradford, the adult contemporary musical outfit known as “The Side Project” quickly began a rigorous songwriting & performing schedule. After a short while they found that they had made quite a name for themselves in their small hometown. In 2004 they moved from Spokane to Seattle, where they finished their second full-length album. For two years they joined forces with Grammy award winning musician/engineer/producer Eric Tingstad (of Tingstad & Rumble fame) & his wife (booking agent/music manager) Carol Tingstad, who booked award winning acts David Lanz, Will Ackerman, Leroy Bell, and Gypsy Soul.
Delving deep into the artful side of music, Suzie, Ben, & band will often include mixed-media into their shows, featuring live paintings, photography, sculpture, video & silent films. Any one performance may feature a gamute of collaborative artists & musicians.
To have a chance to see Suzie perform is to be mesmerized by her hauntingly beautiful vocal ability, lyrics that speak of life, relationships, love & loss. With the blissfully melodic accompaniment of The Side Project, Suzie showcases an adult contemporary music style that is admired and performed to by the dance community across the United States and abroad.
