THE SILENTREATMENT knows what it takes to reach an audience’s heart through its ears. Blending radio-friendly rock rhythms with the band’s own mixture of harder melodies and fluent chord progressions, THE SILENTREATMENT combines its old school rock and metal influences with a modern pop approach to deliver a fresh, unique version of edgy, sexy rock.
THE SILENTREATMENT began in 2005, when Anthony Giamusso began searching for bandmates to help create his musical vision. By the turn of 2006, Giamusso joined forces with Sam Chiarelli, and the nucleus of the band was formed. They recruited longtime friend, Michael Sharkey, to play keyboards for the group and provide them with an exciting host of musical options. “We knew we were onto something,” comments Giamusso. “We all had really similar musical tastes, but approached music from very different directions.” Next, Giamusso tracked down his former bandmate, drummer Mark Lieback, to lay down the funk and groove on drums. Finally, Giamusso was able to lure bassist Stephen Martin away from pharmacy school and into the fold of THE SILENTREATMENT. “Man, we were so lucky to get Mark and Stephen. They were our number one choices,” Giamusso said. “They bring talents far beyond their instruments.”
In the spring of 2007, the young band caught the attention of a well-established management firm, and soon after found themselves surrounded by a strong and capable team of professionals. In November 2007, THE SILENTREATMENT entered the studio to begin recording their debut album for Eschelon Records, SINFUL ACTS OF AUDIO. “Things just happened so fast – it’s dizzying,” says Giamusso.
The songs on SINFUL ACTS OF AUDIO rock and ooze emotion. “We think ’Sinful’ is a damn sexy record,” Giamusso adds. “It really captures the true essence of the band. There are 10 songs full of love, lust and passion that everyone can relate to.”
Determined to make their mark, THE SILENTREATMENT is committed to re-establishing the essence of the true rock show. “People say they’re going to SEE a band in-concert,” says Giamusso, “yet for years, these live shows have been less than eye appealing.” He continues, “We want to bring back the days of the big, exciting rock shows – you know, when audiences were really entertained both sonically and visually. We want our audiences to leave feeling like they got more than they could ever have expected.”
"Catchy songs. Sexy lyrics. Sharp arrangements. Crafty musicianship. I'm predicting big things for this project...A simple message to those who read this column: Give this band a listen."
- Alan K. Stout, The Weekender
"The word is out. This young modern rock band is posed to explode on the scene this year. Loaded with talent, smarts and harmonies, this band is gaining recognition and has a lot of appeal with women and the college crowd... The SilenTreament won’t be quiet for much longer!"
- Media Five Entertainment Booking Agency & Artist Management
"[Sinful Acts of Audio] has a sleek and honest crossover appeal, in its way it is perfectly timeless but also very much of the Now. One can imagine, while hearing this a few albums and years later, with slightly less polish and rougher edges a supergroup of Linkin Park proportions. This however will keep many listeners happy and dancing until that future arrives. An excellent beginning, and a band to watch."
- William Elliot, Next Best Thing Blog
"Danceable pop-rock at it's best."
- Ourobouros Podcast Show
"The most ambitious band we've interviewed."
- Marissa Phillips, The Beacon
"Great band with some great music… Very catchy tunes with some great guitar… If you like American rock like Matchbox Twenty, then you’ll love this group!"
- BRCFP Internet Podcast Show
"Love the sound, love the hooks."
- Eric Thompson, Double Shot Internet Radio
"The SilenTreatment's music comes together nicely, blending radio-friendly rock rhythms with the band's own mixture of harder melodies and fluent chord progressions, all backing Giamusso's lead vocals...The band's devotion to music and the members' friendships will hopefully be a combination that will give the band the longevity they deserve."
Guess its a word now! You can urban dictionary that one later. Haha
Where can I see a hockey game, and how much does that usually cost? And is it bad that I really only wanna see a hockey game in hopes there's a fight? Lol!
I don't really do the movie theater thing...I download everything..haha such a pirate. Went to some ale house the other night and while I was outside smoking, some guy ran out into the parking lot and puked...I've yet to see that at the casino bar...think maybe I'll stick with that one! :)
So I've got hockey & SilenTreatment shows..haha! But seriously, thanks tons for the suggestions & links & everything! :) Super helpful!
Now if I could just find a hookah bar up here that's open 24/7...its one of the few things I miss from back home, especially on sleepless nights like this!
oh yeah. I lucked out with an afternoon shift tmrw so I can sleep in in the AM. if I can ever get to sleep tonight, that is! I swear I looked at the clock an hour ago and it was only 11:30pm...lol where does the time go? my z's have gone with it! not fair.
So, tell me, you're local...I'm new here...what is there to do in NEPA besides hang out in casino bars and gas stations? haha
On a semi-related note, I actually missed a birthday party AND midget bowling at Hardware last Saturday because of your show on Friday...lol We weren't planning on staying out that night, so I only got three hours of sleep before an 8 hour shift, came home and passed out for what was supposed to be an hour, and didn't wake up again until 4:30am. *sigh* My sleep schedule is all sorts of messed up! haha
But why such an early start when you have such a late start time for your show? You better like Red Bull or something!
Good guess, but no. The Exxon/Kwik Mart...by the Super 8. :)
I'll try to make it tomorrow. I know I can, I just don't have anyone to go with because my roomie has to work, and I'm new here so I don't really know anyone else yet, and I don't like going to new places by myself. :( Makes me feel awkward, you know? So we'll see. ;)
yo tony, whats up,man..long time..its good to hear u and mark are playing together again..i gotta come check you guys out..like old times....kick ass music..keep it up...peace Dan T.
I'm stuck on the chorus and a verse or two. I've doodled words down a scrap piece of paper but I still don't have everything put together yet. I'm still kinda new at song writing. Thanks for the advice, your a good friend.
I wish I were going to Boston with cute band boys! Alas, I just got to send them off... Haven't done the merch girl thing since I lived in KY. Now I work at a gas station off 315, right by the turnpike, so there's always bands stopping through on tour. The other morning it was The Hybrid heading to Boston. I had to stay in Pittston. Damn.
Had fun at your show the other night @ Breakers! I still can't blow smoke rings, though. Haha Mayyyybe I'll come out to Charley's for your show tomorrow night & bring my camera..? I have to work til 8, we'll see. ;)
