SmallTown Heroes started in my man room. It is now my daughters bedroom. At first I said we would play no original music, because there were too many bands out playing original tunes and they weren't very good, and I refused to be one of them. We started as a two piece , now we have three.
SmallTown Heroes is not a band, we are friends who play music, we laugh with each other, we cry for each other, we live our lives and our faith together. I never wanted to be in a "Christian" band, I always hated the idea of running around and singing to people how great it was to be a Christian, and how happy we are all the time, or raising ourselves up as some sort of example to follow. But as time wears on and we all change I start to realize that I don't have to be anyone I don't want to be. In fact we should all strive to be better than we are but know who we are so we do not become over inflated.
SmallTown Heroes celebrates life, generally it's the more difficult parts and it doesn't always feel like a celebration, but every party needs a pooper and that's where our music comes in.
I wanted to take this opportunity to tell everyone (or anyone) who reads this to know that we are going to put a record out. I was listening to some things with Dallas just today and everything is sounding wonderful. We are however not in a hurry to finish, just to finish. We gave up on a schedule a long time ago and chose instead to concentrate on putting out the best record we could make. I am sorry if this causes inconvenience to any of you or makes cause for frustration for any of our fans. I promise it will be worth the wait.
Special thanks and consideration to the Crawford's who have been waiting so patiently since we highjacked their lodge almost a year ago. Thanks to everyone who has worked on the project, lent their talent and advise, we are nearing the end and I hope you all are as excited as I am.

Hello there! If I've already been in touch on this please bear with me but I'm trying to get the word out about www. indianapolissongwriterscafe. com
I'm working to create a place that ties together all the people, places & events that are relevant for an Indianapolis songwriter or a fan of this kind of music. There's also a community calendar (that needs a lot of dates added to it) that will soon be a one-stop shop for any songwriterish shows going on around Indy.
If you'd really like to help spread the word I'd be grateful as can be if you copied the little piece of code from either the ISC website or myspace page to display the banner on your page. Just drop me a line if you'd like to but aren't sure how.
well my friend's grandpa played in the seeger teacher talent show (Brian Yates), so we saw you guys there and loved your songs. thought we would go listen to what other stuff you played at skylight. it was really good! so if you ever do get a cd out let me know! :-)
Hey do you have a picture of your fridge on your fridge? (I am sorry I couldn't resist)... plus ditto Laura on your album. Seriously, when is the next one coming out?---Please don't hit me Dallas.

I think the 11th is still on.. only thing that could derail it is if the painting dept throws me a curveball. Is there sill music on friday? Let's talk about details soon...
just saying hey. maybe since we can't be friends and see each other in real life, we can say hi and talk and be friends in the world wide web myspace style! so... hi, how's the life of a facs teacher?
DJ made it to the 3rd round of American Idol auditions. I'm not sure what that means, other than we have definitely missed our chance to play a show with him. Well... that and he's one step closer to breaking the second commandment.
I agree Sunday was one of the best nights I ever had too! And all of those super nice things you said about Foghorn I second as well (except hublest--not sure what that is :) Anyway, totally sad that Foghorn won't be my friend on Myspace, I feel slightly rejected... I might even be mad if they weren't so dang nice and their music wasn't so dang good.
Bonnaroo was awesome! I can't wait to go back. Planning for another one. Either 10,000 Lakes in July and/or Austin City Limits in September. Let me know about Fiddler's. Thanks for asking!
