"You should also already know that the Standard Tribesmen are of the best young bands from Sacto in a long time, that Julian is what Dwyer calls "a tall drink of water," and if you haven't seen the new lineup that formed in the last few months, then you need to see them again because it's different now. I've said it's like a Gories meets Contortions thing with the saxophone, and I'm still sticking to that." - The Extra-planetary Dj Rick
YOUR SHOW ISN'T ON THE 22ND. IT WAS LAST NIGHT. JERK. I HOPE YOU LAUGHED AT ME. I HOPE YOU LAUGHED REAL HARD. I HOPE YOU WERE LIKE "TENLEY THINKS WE'RE PLAYING ON THE 22ND BUT IT'S REALLY TONIGHT." My feelings are REALLY hurt since i'm taking this as a personal attack.
No, well yes. I'm trying to find somewhere where the Shaky Hands could play in Sacramento on October 20th. If you opened for them, it'd be my favorite show ever.
Can't a homey hook you up with a house show or the likes in Sacramento? Make me a tape. I'll give you $3. It's probably less than the cost of the tape and production but totally accomodates my frugal life style. I don't know if I have a tape player. But i'll atleast have a tape.
ARNOLD SCHWARTZNF'CKD HAS SCREWED CALIFORNIA ONCE AGAIN. HIS ESTIMATED $4 BILLION EDUCATION BUDGET CUT WILL AFFECT CALIFORNIA'S CHILDREN, COLLEGE STUDENTS, AND EDUCATORS. THOUSANDS OF LAY OFF'S AND PROGRAM CUTS HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PLACE ACROSS THE BORED. 23% CLASS SIZE INCREASE WILL BE FORCED UPON ALREADY PACKED CLASSROOMS. SPORTS, MUSIC, AND ART PROGRAMS WILL NOT EXIST IN THE MAJORITY OF CALIFORNIA GENERAL EDUCATIONS SCHOOL. AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL, AN ESTIMATED 300,000 TRANSFER/HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL BE UNACCEPTED REGARDLESS OF QUALIFICATIONS AT CSU'S AND UC'S. FINANCIAL AID, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND CALGRANT PROGRAMS WILL LOSE FUNDING. TUITION WILL BE INCREASED. And this isn't a bill. Earlier this week, Arnold's approved said cuts with little regard to PLAUSIBLE ALTERNATIVES.
California, the richest state in the nation, in the richest of the most developed nations is regarded in the worst 10 states for educations. Are we going to wait to do something til we're #1? Can you afford to put your education or child's education as risk? Can college students afford higher tuition with less options for finicial aid and scholarships, that is, if they are even accepted into a state school?
