Originally from the Westside of Detroit (Warrendale) area, these high school buddies formed Starfire and have been together ever since. With their love for hard rock and bands like Alice Cooper, Bad Company, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin, high school buddies Gary Niemenski, Phil Corsi, and Marty Klein formed the band Starfire. Today, they are still performing and recording. The inspiration for Starfire's original music stems from their deep Detroit musical roots. In July 2007, Starfire performed at Detroit's Campus Martius as a finalist in the Detroit News Sonic Band Series. This series was the onset of Starfire's performances at a number of summer festivals and art fairs throughout Michigan. The Starfire Band performed at the International Powerpop Overthrow Festival in April and the Metro Music Expo in September. Singer/Songwriter Gary Niemenski classifies the band's music as classic pop rock or power pop. The band's music incorporates good melodies with flowing chord progressions.
