Sounds Like
The Book of Revelation filtered through blogocombat musical prisms.
When I was a teenager, school mate Bennett Theissen and I started an art rock band named Camouflage Danse, in East Peoria, IL. We performed in Chicago and NYC. Camouflage Danse music was presented to Andy Warhol at an INXS Gold Record Award party I snuck into at Rockefeller Center. Our band featured me, BT, R. Dee Lloyd, Koch Malone and guest musicians like Doug McCombs of Tortoise. Live show venues included the Knitting Factory, Brooklyn Academy of Culture & Art (BACA), and WFMU.
That band broke up in 1989 and, to the best of my knowledge, I'm the only member who continued to make music. I called it Str8 Sounds in a flash of unimaginative brilliance. I use Sony ACID and Roland Cakewalk software, Magix video editor, acoustic guitar with missing strings, Hohner harmonicas, slide whistles, Electra EP-501 digital sampler delay, and Digitech BP-80 modeling bass processor.
FGC is back at the Canopy Club in Urbana on Friday for the first time since April, and we can’t wait to throw down for you all!
In other news, FGC is also excited to announce that the band will be celebrating New Year's Eve 2009 at the Redstone Room in Davenport, IA. Our third New Year's in a row at this incredible venue, we will once again be pulling out all the stops! Stay tuned for more information on this year's theme, advance tickets, and other details, and in the meantime, click here to check out the video announcement.
Pending the new release "Melotonine" (release date coming soon), i decided to offer you a part of my best recent works in a free EP, "Cupboard Replacement", downloadable in all numeric formats with special graphic art works by Flint on Music AutOmatiK's Website :
