The Sunsets Quick is an indie-rock quartet from Boston, Massachusetts. Since forming in the winter of 2007, they have drawn comparisons to bands like the Pixies, the Strokes, and Modest Mouse. They have played all over the Boston area at venues like the Middle East, Great Scott, and T.T. the Bear's Place with Boston favorites The Fatal Flaw, Emergency Music, and Vivian Darkbloom, among many others.
Their self-titled debut album, released in the fall of 2008, has been warmly received by bloggers and local press. One review praised the album’s "energy and enthusiastic beats," adding that the band has "an impressive grasp of rhythm and a knack for foot-tapping hooks." The Boston Herald recommended the band's "dirty, 60's rock vibe" to its readers. And Ryan Spaulding of Ryan's Smashing Life music blog named the Sunsets Quick one of his favorite Boston bands of 2008.
Their dynamic live shows display a full range of sounds, from the low key musings of "Down" to the all out roar of "Deaf Dumb" and everything in between. Their current line-up features Matt Roselli on lead vocals and guitar, Chase Livingston on lead guitar and vocals, Ashton Jones on bass guitar and vocals, and Liz Maynes-Aminzade on drums. They are currently playing shows in the Boston area to promote their debut album, working on material for their second album, and planning a Fall '09 tour of the East Coast.
