   About The Takedown
Proud sons of St. Louis, The Takedown fuses modern rock, punk and classic rock to create a sound best resembling The Stones and The Who vs. Alkaline Trio and Weezer in a whiskey fueled bar brawl. Self-made and determined, they have independently financed their first two albums with consistent live shows and merchandise sales. They've been featured on iChannel.fm and KDHX in acoustic performances and interviews, and their eponymous debut EP and 2007's full-length album This City Is Screaming are available on iTunes and other online vendors.

While the band's sound is constantly developing, their main focus is on memorable hooks, explosive intros, and diverse lyrical content and song structure. Lead singer Ryan McClure and lead guitarist Warren Patton have been writing songs together for almost fifteen years. By combining forces with Dogtown neighborhood friends Ben Ferguson and Dan Brown in 2005, they established The Takedown with the goal to be as energetic and fun as a bar band while retaining the dynamic and professionalism of a national touring act.

Don't be surprised to find the band moving through the crowd with guitars in hand, looking for anything on stage to jump off of, giving the other members swift kicks while running the length of the stage, or breaking into a quick tribute to a classic gem. They believe that energy is needed to help their grass-roots approach to building a reputation in the Midwest. Locally they've brought their brand of entertainment to some of their hometown's best venues: Blueberry Hill, Cicero's, Off Broadway, and The Pageant. Regionally, The Takedown has toured area college towns and large cities like Chicago, once even giving an impromptu performance on Beale Street in Memphis using another band's equipment during a set break.

Their first full-length album, This City Is Screaming, was recorded over four months with producer Mark Burris at St. Louis’ Music Creek Studios. During that experience the band pushed the limits of their sound and musicianship. Although pleased with the final outcome, The Takedown constantly seeks to enhance every aspect of their style whether it be songwriting, stage performance, or in the studio.

8/22/2009 7:00 PM at Fubar
3108 Locust, St Louis, Missouri 63101
Cost: $8

This is going to be a great night. The show starts at 5:00.  We'll go on later around 7:00 maybe.  We won't know until the show date exactly what order the bands will play.  There will be a lot of great bands to see and we'll be there too.  Tell the door guy at the Fubar that you are there at our invitation (or we don't get credit for bringing friends which is the name of the game)...

We continue to book shows.  The next event will be fun and crazy stuff at Broadway Bistro Zoo on September 12th.  Fun and sexy adult entertainment.  More info to follow shortly.

Awesome quote I thought I'd share;

"Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music." ~Jimi Hendrix

Hope you are cranking it!
