THE TINDER BOX was a collectively run no-profit music venue and arts space on Elliot Street in downtown Brattleboro, VT. We were open for two and a half years, from June 2006-January 2009. In that time we hosted hundreds of shows and bands that came from all around this and other continents. While we no longer have a space of our own, our spirit still wants to dance:
SATURDAY JUNE 20, 2009
7:30 PM @ The Stone Church
(intersection of Main Street & Grove Street) Brattleboro, VT 05301.
sliding scale of between $6-10. NO DRINKING!
GHOST MICE (folk punk from Bloomington IN/Gainesville FL) HEATHERS (folk from Ireland!!!) WINGNUT DISHWASHERS UNION (folk punk is dead!) ENDLESS MIKE AND THE BEAGLE CLUB (explode) ...and others to be announced!
We are not looking for more bands. Don't ask. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DRINKING AT THIS EVENT! The venue is around the corner from the police station and a residential neighborhood. There is fragile stained glass all along the walls of the space that will not survive rowdiness. You'll get kicked out for being a jerk, and that's no joke.
Hello Vermont!...Just letting you know I'll be playing 3 dates in your lovely state with my band this weekend. Hope you can make it.
love, Miss Tess
*Thursday, Jan. 22 @ The Hooker-Dunham Theater, Brattleboro *Friday, Jan. 23 @ Langdon St. Cafe, Montpelier *Saturday, Jan. 24 @ The Red Fox Inn, Bondsville
Thanks to everyone who kept us going all throughout 2008. We started Go Get It In 2006 and are still going strong. So Thank You, Happy New Year, and God Bless! Stop Bye Our Page and Check Out our newest song "WIND BLOW BYE" FEATURING PAIGE HUDON!
It really sucks that your closing. I'm gonna miss The Tinder Box more than anything. Thanks for all the good music, good times, and priceless memories. Good luck in whatever it is you do with the rest of your lives. I'll see you at the last couple shows.
It's a damn shame you're closing. I played my first Packrat show ever inside your walls and I couldn't have imagined a better, more fitting, more welcoming place to be. I wish everyone involved with the TinderBox the best possible future. Hopefully I can find a ride for the 27th.
