With a ukulele and an interesting recording style Kilgore Trout Is Dead is single handedly rewriting how music can be played. It's a completely unconventional approach to music, but it certainly has it's roots in bits of the past. Whether you want to credit Brian Wilson and hi SoCal roots or Van Dyke parks and his elaborate string arrangements doesn't matter, what does matter is that one listen to Kilgore Trout should completely change your perception on music. This is not Don Ho's ukulele music, it's more electronic and modern and not necessarily reminiscent of anything beach related. Okay, maybe that's not entirely true after all the track below is named "Surf Song", but Kilgore is quickly proving that there shouldn't be limitations on an instrument and doing it with one that not too many know well enough. It's almost like what Joanna Newsom did for the harp, only nothing like it 'cause its a uke. Give a listen I guarantee it's nothing like anything you've heard before.

You should change your quote to "Butter through headphones..." Look, I'm just saying. It's more accurate. Also, yes, I will totally play the woodblock on your album as a guest appearance! Oh my god, I can't believe you asked!
