2008 News!
We are working on our sixth full length titled "Our Soul Has Many Songs" to be released sometime in 2008. This will be an 8 song album and 45 minute movie. We are working on a new set and video projections to escape the grey skies of Portland and tour sunny California May 1-11th. Please come out and say hello, if you can help with any of our TBA dates please contact us.
Our new material relies less on rock riffs and more on dreamy atmosphere. The lyrical content is whimsical and dark, sarcastic and true, surreal and ordinary. We are very excited to play music for the love of playing music where we fall into detailed painstaking motions for the pure pleasure of creating something moving and dynamic. Of course we know we are just entertainers and clowns. It would be great to see old friends and make new ones on our little outing. Also please keep an eye out for local shows. We will be playing out soon!
You can now order The Unit Breed’s new CD/DVD "Lost Eyes" from New Disorder Records! 11 song CD with DVD containing an animated movie of the album plus slide shows of artwork and photos. Take a look and listen to one of the songs below.
When everything is going wrong does anybody ever focus on the things that look the least wrong?
You can now order The Long Long Everlasting on 12" from Limbless Records!. This is a limited run of 300 12’ vinyl records, each come with a poster of Joseph Demarees artwork and homemade covers.
The Unit Breed have been playing and touring consistently since 1998 - four full US tours, 1 half full US tour, 9 regional jaunts and a trip to Japan. We originated in San Jose CA and have been living in Portland OR for the past four years.
We’ve booked all our own tours, recorded our own albums, and created all artwork and packaging. We get compared to a lot of bands and are influenced by many more. We sound very much like ourselves.
We love playing shows and driving across the country. We’re also fond of roller coasters, swimming, philosophy, art, burritos, and meeting fun outgoing creative open minded people.

Meet Start Fires -- DMLH and Shermstyxx bring uplifting lyrical hip-hop for personal empowerment, over fresh old-school "digalog" futurebeat, spitting razor-sharp deliveries about politics, culture, history and possibility that ignite dancefloors here in sunny Portland, Oregon. Recorded live at the Chaos Parlor on SE Division.

Hope the mini-tour went well. Looks like you guys had loads of fun. Looking forward to the new album. I've been listening to the new songs. Instead of the unit breed being in your face it's really subtle and intricate. Which I really like. Although, I also like when the unit breed is right in your f*cking face relentlessly dictating that you shut the f*ck up and listen. Abrasive aftermath of a decomposing social network.
i hope you boys are behaving yourself... 5 rabble rousers, a van, 3000 miles and a trash bag full of psychedelics...yr nothing but a bunch of goddamn trouble makers...and wooden indian loves you.
“To hell with reality! I want to die in music, not in reason or in prose. People don't deserve the restraint we show by not going into delirium in front of them. To hell with them!”-celine
Last night I dreamt that I flew in to drum on the Unit Breed tour of China. It was only just before the first show that I realized that I didn't have cymbals nor did I know any of the new songs.
Hey Guys! We're going to be back in Portland tomorrow (Tuesday) night to rip a rocker at The Towne Lounge. You should come hang out because frankly it's been too long.
