BIG SKELETON COMING SOON!

After months of work bolting together mongreloid bass lines, drum breaks and synthesised melodies in a manner not too dissimilar to Dr Victor Frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s novel of the same name, drum and bass occultists The Upbeats prepare to reanimate the dead with ‘Ghost Radio/1968’, the third release on their Non Vogue Record label.

The first of many breakbeat-jointed monsters constructed by hand, then resuscitated from the nether realms, ‘Ghost Radio/1968’ represents a rare preview of the mad alchemy driving The Upbeats third album release –Big Skeleton.

Part day of the dead tribute, part haunted house story and all indestructible Brazilian death tank homage, Big Skeleton finds The Upbeats working within their musical butcher house with a new degree of surgical precision to the extent that the album’s original release date has been rescheduled to September. This will allow The Upbeats to take maximum advantage of their newly heightened prowess with the hacksaw and tweezers.
