THE USERS – SECONDARY MODERN’ CD
Stunning and absolutely necessary collection from late seventies Cambrigde punks THE USERS whose ‘Sick Of You’ / ‘(I’m)In Love With Today’ single on Raw Records originally released in 1977 is an definite classic and should be in every punk rocker’s record collection (Damaged Goods reissued it in 1999 and again a couple of years ago).
Of course both of these cuts are included here as well as 2 tracks from their self-released second 7” (Warped Records) from 1978, ‘Kicks In Style’ as well as 4 extra cuts from 1979 ‘Listen’, ‘It’s Not True’, ‘Now That It’s Over’ and ‘All I Get’ and to wrap it up there’s ‘Bad Decision’ recorded live in 1978 with Robyn Hitchcock on bass.
Absolutely fantastic…this is so essential it’s unreal…
Once again, vital audio courtesy of Detour / Bin Liner who refuse to let this stuff die out and thank God for that.

Supposedly, John Peel used too keep TWO copies of The Users’ ‘Sick Of You’ single in his legendary record box.
Had some of their unreleased stuff (included herewith) been available on vinyl, I’d keep THREE copies myself !
Hearing The Stooges-like raw power of their ’77 debut in question, I can see why they’re considered for “one of the most underrated punk bands of all time”
But it’s the unreleased ’79 sessions that really do it for me. Put through their own “pure action art vision”,
‘Listen’, ‘All I Get’ and of course the cover of ‘It’s Not True’ all display an obvious Who influence,
while ‘Now That It’s Over’ might be what Joey Ramone would’ve sounded like while backed by the ‘Pistols, and covering The Who once again. An ultimate punk rock collaboration anyone... ???
