    The Vanish came about in 2008 when two long-time friends, Mike Elmgreen and Pete Enestrom, decided to re-create their days playing in punk bands growing up in Australia. Despite living on opposite coasts of the US, the pair exchanged song ideas over the internet from their San Francisco and New York City studios. Their style quickly developed into a boiling fusion of post-punk, nu-wave and electro, complimented by lyrics dealing with identity and conformity. Now based out of New York City, The Vanish recently signed to UK Label, Eye Industries, after capturing the attention of the blog world in 2009. .... Heartbeat"...is more than awesome.... it's pretty much ESSENTIAL. You can imagine people talking a whole bunch about these guys by the end of the year." (Too Many Sebastians) .... "Some of the more memorably fun and infectious and not even slightly run-of-the-mill indie dance-rock music we've heard around these parts in some time." (Culture of Me)" ....
