What happened in 2007? Boris Yeltsin died, Prince Harry was kidnapped and executed during military service in Iraq, and The Who Boys released their third Mashup album, ‘The Good, The Bad and The Who Boys’.
In 2004 they brought you the legendary ‘Tales of Townsend and Wilson’. Then, in 2005 they brought you the ground-breaking ‘For Mash Get Smashed’. And now, in 2007 AD, they bring you
‘The Good, The Bad and The Who Boys’.
And Good Lord, this is all without mentioning their original albums!
What’s it all about, Alfie?
Alfie: “There is no point in describing this. All you can do is turn the lights off, put your headphones on, pour a glass of the finest wine, press PLAY, lean back, close your eyes and listen. Then you will know. The Who Boys are not a band, they are a state of mind. If you don’t get it now, you never will. As Syd Barrett said to Madonna: 'You’ll never know, baby, you’ll never know.'”
This 24 track album represents arguably their finest Mashup work to date.

Show 39 – Saturday Night with The Who Boys – The Old Jack Mathers Show.
On this show we play our only ‘concept’ album, ‘The Life & Disaster of Old Jack Mathers’, in its entirety. We feel this is arguably our best lyrical and musical achievement as a whole album. It’s dark – my God it’s dark – but it’s based on a character we used to see in our local pub when we lived around Holloway Road, London – a very sinister man. This is his life story, in the form of music.
It doesn’t really matter what we say in between the tracks on this show, as the show is really all about the album, so the programme just lists the tracks of the album in order.
Turn the lights off, pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy.
1. Young Jack Mathers
2. Old Jack Mathers
3. "He was one of these self-deluded tossers"
4. Mathers in the betting shop
5. Place that Bet
6. "He was somebody who looked like he wanted to kick yer head in"
7. Mathers’ Wife
8 ."I’ll tell you about old Jack Mathers"
9. He Went Down
10. "This became my local when I got out of prison"
11. Mathers’ Memories
12. "He was a malign influence on the pub"
13. Inside the Mind of Mathers
14. "There’s one in every pub"
15. Lonely Hatred, Putrid, Wasted
16. "Some say the guy had a criminal record"
17. Mathers Waits
18. "I remember the smell"
19. "I warned him"
20. Mathers in the Hospital
21. "So what happened to him then?"
22. No one miss you when you die
23. The Legacy of Old Jack Mathers

TALES OF TOWNSHEND & WILSON (2004)
THE WHO MEET THE BEACH BOYS in a mash-up extravaganza, copulate and give birth to The Who Boys, the enfants-terribles of mash-up.
The Who and The Beach Boys sliced up and cooked on a griddle of drum n bass, dub and hard electronic rhythm. A cultural and musical hybrid, a quantum leap across four decades, as the analogue sounds of The Who and The Beach Boys come back across time and space, enter a computer hard drive, are processed into new tracks, new songs, new phrases, and are thrown back out into virtual space...
The Who Boys, Dubby Dick Turpins of the internet highway, robbing samples from the rich and complacent major labels, and giving the proceeds back to the poor and hip, needy and worthy. The Who Boys, online, on time, in time, and through time for all time, give you the story of Pete Townsend and Brian Wilson as you never heard it before... The Who meet The Beach Boys, and give birth to a groove monster, The Who Boys, modern, beyond mash-up, pure deranged genius...
THE WHO BOYS RETURN! As 2004s classic Tales of Townshend and Wilson continues to reverberate, echo and slowly fade across the net, back they come with the stunning new collection,
FOR MASH GET SMASHED.
The Who Boys, back with unlimited mash-up, delving into sounds from across the 20th century. Crack open a can of Special Brew, tell your mother to SHUT UP or she can GO AND STAND IN THE GARDEN, crank up the stereo and GET NODDING. A horrifically groovy new collection of the finest mash-up tracks, FOR MASH GET SMASHED brings you the sounds of Led Zep meeting Canned Heat in a Garage, Nick Drake meeting Pink Floyd over hardcore drum n bass, and - oh, its too complex to explain!

In 2005 a project was started featuring guest collaborators, artists, poets and performers we had met at The Foundry, a bar and gallery in East London, where The Who Boys had performed regularly for a long time.
The change in the UK licensing laws in 2005 meant that the Who Boys and these other performers would no longer be able to perform live there anymore, as the venue was not allowed to have anything that constituted a live performance without first applying for an entertainment license. It was the end of an era.
The project was originally to be called 'Lost and Foundry', to commemorate this loss and capture the spirit of the characters and performers on this album, but then Rathmell, who is bloody-minded, fell out with one of the owners. Also we worried that no one would know what The Foundry is outside of East London anyway, so as a title it would make no sense to anybody else in the world. Instead we decided to call it the Quite Album. Why? Because it's quite long, there are quite a lot of quite short tracks, there are quite a lot of participants and it's quite a departure for us in terms of style and approach. It's also quite bloody good, cunt.
Inspired by The Commercial Album by The Residents, we wanted to make a collection of very short tracks where we reduced songwriting to its basic elements, working fast and often improvising. After years of spending ages on tracks, agonising over every detail, we wanted to bring more spontaneous creativity back into it and maybe learn something about songwriting in the process, or indeed what a song can be. And have some bloody FUN, instead of being precious and thinking too much.
So welcome to The Quite Album - a dark, experimental journey through our culture. Quite.
listen to our latest release [BWO027] SAX SECRETS - KLANGFREQUENZ FT YVES LE FRANC supported by Tim Green, Dean Facer, Paul Loraine, Tony Rodriguez, Igor Marijuan, Kiko Martinez and many more!! Sambuca surely shows more the deep, melodic but very stylish side of Deep House music whereas Klangfrequenz' remix of E-Wozz' original track Gwada is a more pumpy and drum orientated display of playful Tech House. Watch out for these tracks, it's a great way to release the warm summer feelings once more before the winter delivers the opposite!

Oscar Wilde once stated that “I always like to know everything about my new friends, and nothing about my old ones”. Of course there is a waspish humour within such a remark but it also focuses upon one of life’s great delights: New stuff. New stuff. Whether it’s a relationship or a pair of socks or a delicious, shimmering piece of Youreyeslie gorgeousness you can’t quite beat the chemical high that stems from beholding something new, surprising and unknown. The website has been updated with nothing but newness.
