Washington Transcripts (What is really being said in DC)

I sent a team of Guantanamo Bay prisoner abuse specialists to the Chinese government, to look into reports of 1,000 Buddhist monks missing in their state of Tibet. Our people just reported back that those monks aren’t missing; they are all in training to work the concession stands at the Olympics, selling fast food Chinese. Nothing wrong with monks learning a skill, by working the games might even land a job at McDonalds, be better than mumbling old chants all their lives. It also means John McCain and I are again clear to be at the Olympics this summer and stand together on the stage of world opinion.

Now listen at me now. We are not going to force humanitarian relief on Myanmar's junta! That’s because they are a military government not a bunch of terrorists. My war is not with legitimate governments that contribute to the new Bush world order. It is with terrorist states. Besides John McCain has a lot of key folks in his campaign who are also employed by the junta, guys that are working hard to improve relations between the United States and Myanmar.

I just spoke to that Chinese Foreign Minister, that Yang Jiechi guy. I told him if they in his government want this President at the Olympics, they must get over on these Tibetan monks. Told him that the Bush rule of governing #1 is never ever let any dissidents anywhere near a press tour. Made it clear they could start cracking down on the monks as hard as they want right after I left Peking town but not now. Also told him I might be bringing old John McCain along. He got real excited about that.

Quick reminder about the 2008 Comedy Against Evil political comedy tour, a fun event for college dems, young democrats, or any progressives looking to support a group, promote a cause, or simply enjoy the company of like-minded folks during this exciting election season.

Thanks!

Comedy Against Evil is *the* political comedy tour.
A writer for Comedy Central's Indecision2008, winner of the Bill Hicks Spirit Award for Thought Provoking Comedy, cast member of Shoot The Messenger (from the creator of The Daily Show), and author of Harper Collins' "Get Rich Cheating" and the Funny Money column, Jeff Kreisler dissects American politics and culture with passion, absurdity, and hope.
The Comedy Against Evil tour has been featured at the College Democrats National Convention, appeared on Air America and Sirius Radio, supported candidates for President, Congress, and Governor, and made people laugh during caucuses, campaigns, conventions, festivals, rallies, and more. Comedy Against Evil believes humor speaks truth to power and that laughter can save the world.

"A welcome reminder of a time when comedy cut a lot closer to the issues of the day than most comics now dare." - Dallas Morning News
"Truly the best event the Colgate College Democrats have had in my four years as a member." - President, Colgate Democrats
"A highlight." - The New York Times
"Jeff Kreisler and his Comedy Against Evil show were amazing. Jeff's act was thought provoking, edgy, and quite hilarious." - Georgetown University Dems
"Kreisler changes the pace a bit with a slightly demented, extremely animated set that attacks everything..." - San Francisco Chronicle
"'Comedy Against Evil' was the most fun I've ever had at a political event." - Case University Dems

You have been one my "top friends" since i found out about you through the ever popular Stumble Button. However. I have been disappointed. It seems as though you're just an avenue for lazy people to watch CNN and FOX. You even aren't asking the real questions. Providing honest coverage of anything in particular. I would love to see more excitement about CHANGE and less on the corporations. You talking about them and getting mad only gets them going. You're helping by showing the the top 3 side of the story. The nation needs to decide, not just 3 states and 3 candidates and 3 news outlets. We need democracy and unity and color and diversity. We need PASSION.

Hey. The three scientists still working at the Environmental Protection Agency have just come out with a finding and is the President ever happy about it. Their finding proves that trees are responsible for the majority of green house gases and that all we need to do is get rid of enough trees to balance out our green house carbon accounts. Take that Al Gore, carry it all the way to Kyoto smart guy. All Americans can relate to good science. Good spin! Good spin! Damn good spin!

Our Burma policy is to let the First Lady bang on her desk and speak vacuously about sanctions: we cannot even hint at intervention because the President stands tall for the separation of church and state. He won’t help because the monks are like religious. That’s not this President’s way. He insists religion be kept out of the political realm. All Americans can relate to that. Good spin! Good spin! Damn good spin!

Sure, we are not intervening in Myanmar because we don’t have enough troop strength left to deal with a candlelight vigil in Juarez, but tell the Press Office to put out that the President is having trouble focusing on democracy in that place mostly because they changed their name from Burma. All Americans can relate to that one. Good spin! Good spin! Damn good spin!

We need to get Iraq back down to where things were like in the Old West, like in our old days. That is what this surge business is about, get the place spilt up into places like Tombstone and Dodge City and then guys like: the Erp Brothers, Jesse James and Doc Holiday will come along and make everything all better. Anarchy first, then statehood and eventually we got nationhood, that’s a plan.

Dear friends,

I would like to share with you why I love myspace. I share my ideas in my blog about Darfur and I have had the fortune of meeting Indirect Democracy. My essay is read on this wonderful Podcast. Please visit the website:

http://www.indirectdemocracy.podomatic.com/

and their myspace page

http://www.myspace.com/indirectdemocracy

Thank you and I hope we can work together on stopping the injustice in Darfur.

Maria

a synopsis on the podcast:

Darfur and Immigration -

After a long, and unexpected delay, Indirect Democracy is back. On this Podcast, I will cover a personal story involving a friend’s final step towards citizenship. It is important to remember all the people who come here to work and struggle to attain the American dream and be part of our collective experience as a nation. Sharing that moment with her is something I will not soon forget.

I received an essay regarding Darfur that I am proud to share. It coincides with the Global Day for Darfur that passed on April 29. The writer, named Maria Halyna, runs a website dedicated to educating us all about the tragedy of Darfur – tragedy seems like such a small word when you consider this living horror. I encourage you to visit her site and learn more: http://blog.myspace.com/mariahalynal

The music from this Podcast is entitled, “Still Waiting,” by the Greyboy Allstars. You can find their music at: www.greyboyallstars.com

As well, there is the Global Warming Update, the President’s Love Horoscope, a word from a new sponsor AND, as always, the What a Weinie Award.

Thanks for listening.
