BETTER PEOPLE - White Lighter CD-R (Better People) I wish there was more information to relay, but I'm stumped, not to mention currently lazy (check out their MySpace page for more info). This disc is a forty-five minute aural landscape, and the first release from Georgia, USA's Better People (who are in league with fellow local noise-maker Sailor Winters). The quieter moments throughout the enclosed soundscapes are similar to Nurse With Wound's later, less violent works. Playfully electronic, with a percolating, even bubbling backbone. The louder, harsher moments made me think of Archon Satani and their dark, ritual music. I'd like to make a note that many involved in this musical project, as well as its packaging, are trying to get burned discs recognized as an equal format to plant-pressed CDs, and I agree. One of the many ways to help bring power to the persons! Not the people. (Dec 15, 2006)
***salvia inside the broken home CDR EP: The liners to the latest better people EP recommend the following: "Get stoned and listen to this with you[r] headphones on... and turn it up loud." Yes, yes -- heavy tape loops, gurgling rhythms, piercing drones and the sound of a thousand orcs on the attack. BUT also a steadied, patient study in noise dynamics and one more reason why Athens, GA's Doug Patterson demands to be noticed.

cassettes will be commissioned works (not by content, but by payment)
for individuals. If John Smith in London, England wants his own Zebulon
Kosted album, I will make a 45 minute album (one side of a 90 minute
tape), 2 hand drawn mini posters, I will name the album after him
(Zebulon Kosted - John Smith), and the fan will retain all rights to
the recording (for use of any future release, sampling, or broadcasting
rights). One copy of the album will remain in my personal collection,
and one will be sent to the customer, so that the only copy that will
be in circulation will be John Smiths copy! Each album is available for
the ridiculously low price of $10 (not including shipping), and will be
shipped in its completed form no later than 6 weeks from the date of
purchase!!!
