About me:
This is an Anti Death Penalty site, however as Thomas has no access to the internet this page is run by his friends. This is an unoffical site for Thomas. He has no control of any kind as to what gets put onto this page. The main aim of this page is to highlight the life and struggles of Texas’ Death Row inmates and to bring awareness not simply to Thomas’ case but to the long hard fight faced by the many men and women who are also currently sat in Texas’ “steel tombs”.
Thomas was born and raised in Fort Bend County Texas.
Thomas has been incarcerated since 2005 and has been on Death Row since the 23rd March 2007.
The people connected with this site and who know Thomas ARE prepared to take a stand and fight for something that we believe is wrong. As individual people our voices would be lost, but as a group we can make a difference.
We are not excusing what Thomas has done, as there are no excuses. But we believe that the Death Penalty is not the right answer in this case or any other case.
We simply ask that you come to this page with an open and non-judgemental mind. What you take from the information is up to you.
Thomas’ case and situation is only one of thousands not only across America but also across the world whose governments believe that this punishment is justified.
Thomas still has hope that things can change, but for many it is already too late.
Please take some time to think about the consequences of this “cruel and unusual punishment”. Whether we like it or not, as a society we must take responsibility for the actions of the politicians who use this as a “political tool”.
“It takes strength to endure abuses…it takes courage to stop them.”
Together we CAN and WILL make a difference, along with the many other thousands of people and groups, to hopefully abolish the Death Penalty for good!!!!
I would urge people who have not seen the film "Dead Man Walking" to watch this clip of the execution scene. This scene had a huge effect on me when i first saw it and it continues to do so. This clip maybe from a film...but the truth is this scene is played out FOR REAL somewhere almost every day!!
Maybe by watching this clip someone maybe shocked into thinking about the subject and maybe give some thought as to what they can do to get involved to change the reality.
Some crimes are horrific and there are no excuses for them. But death does not provide the answer; it is simply retaliation to the crime NOT a punishment.
"Sometimes...life teaches even the dumbest of us things worth remembering. I guess my plea is this: stop living in a haze. Appreciate EVERYTHING. Because we all have a date. Maybe yours isn't set like mine is, but it's there."* *Journal edited with permission for content.
"You can take away our names and replace them with numbers, cage and store us in conditions not even fit for your family dog, and exterminate us at your whim, but we are still human beings, capable of everything from love and beauty to violence and hate."

Marc I've been writing letters back and forth with Thomas since 2008, but my last three letters went unanswered. They were typed and printed. I was wondering, does the prison have a funny rule about no typed letters? Does it have to be handwritten? Maybe Thomas is just too preoccupied to write back, but I just wanted to make sure.

Just would like to remind everyone that the Facebook page is updated a lot more regularly than the MySpace page
Thomas' Facebook Profile
I just received a letter from Thomas. He appears to be in good spirits however he assumes he will be on level 3 for 120 days! That is a lot of deprivation...no radio, typewriter, very limited commissary(including stamps) and from other sources, I understand his food rations are reduced as well. Please write and e-mail Thomas frequently, this ordeal is going to be much more difficult on him than any of us could ever know. I strongly suspect he was being upbeat in his letter so as not to upset me.
Please check out Minutes before Six to view Thomas' friend Kevin's deathwatch journal, it's gripping.
..Letters that are typed are perfectly fine. Polunsky has recently been on lockdown and the mail has been extra slow as well recently, I am sure he will respond to your letters soon :)
Hey,
..Just letting everyone know that there has been some updates to the ARTISTS section of Thomas' website www.minutesbeforesix.com including some artwork painted by Thomas. Please check it out and don't forget to become a member of Thomas' support group on Facebook (which is updated more regularly than here)
Wishing Thomas a Happy 30th!
Happy 30th birthday Thomas!
I do not live in the states. We also have murders happening here but we do not then kill those murderers. We are a little more civilised than that.
Who gives anyone the right to take another life? We punish those that take another persons life because it is wrong. What makes executions right? As a person from the outside looking in, what Americans allow their governments to do is sickening. The majority of the rest of the world agrees with me as well. Except for a few countries like Iran, China, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan... and the United States of America, the rest of world sees this practice as horrifying Who is America to dictate about human rights when they are in such company?
Murder is a terrible thing. It happens all over the world. The death penalty doesn't deter it otherwise your murder rates would be low instead of so high, and those states that have abolished this barbaric practice would have higher rates as well, instead they are lower than those states that continue to legally murder its own citizens.
Judge Connolly said "[w]e recognize the temptation to make the prisoner suffer, just as the prisoner made an innocent victim suffer. But it is the hallmark of a civilized society that we punish cruelty without practicing it." The only way we can punish cruelty without practicing it is to abolish capital punishment.
