Danish jazz pianist, Thomas Walbum, was born in Lilleroed (north of Copenhagen) in 1965.
Thomas has performed in the USA, Australia, Japan, Brazil and several European countries.
During a three year stay in America he recorded his debut album Thomas Walbum Trio- Boston (released by Music Mecca) together with top jazz artists drummer Joe Hunt and bassist John Lockwood.
October 2008 - toured Japan with his Japanese trio.
February 2009 - toured Japan for the second, and also recorded the new cd ‘Thomas Walbum Trio - First Meeting’ – soon to be released.
March 2009 - the cd ‘The Danish Jazz Concept’ was released – a new Danish group led by bassist Joergen Johnbeck.
April 2009 - toured Brazil with Brasilian grammy nominated ‘Sinequanon’. Played in Sao Paulo, Campinas and Rio De Janeiro.
In October 2009 he will be touring China with a group featuring American bassist Michael Hicks.
He holds a Master of Music degree from Boston Conservatory/Berklee College, USA, as well as a performance degree from the Rhythmic Conservatorium in Copenhagen.
The sound samples on this page are partly from the trio cd "Boston", partly from a live solo concert in Prague 2004.
'Heat Wave' and 'Portrait of White and Black' are from my new trio cd: "Thomas Walbum Trio - First Meeting", feat Kazufumi Tsuchimura - bass and Shin-Ichiro Kamoto - drums. The cd will be released in the autumn 2009.
