Brest, Rainiest town in France, Fall 2005, from the ashes of their previous bands
five kids decided the time was right to put some fun back in the hardcore scene
that had became so dull and clean…First thing : choose a name ! They thought
of calling themselves Madball, but it was already taken by an obscure
US band, nevermind they finally made their mind for Thrashington D.C.,
way much cooler isn’t it? Then, choose a style and try to fit in it! Somewhere
between fast punk and rock’n’roll, as if The Explosion got fucked by Limp Wrist…
Thrashington DC went on with recording songs which were released
on a cd-r with Spitfast from Japan (on Kawaii Records), playing a lot of shows
in France and even Belgium in 2006…They recorded their first album
“To Live and Die in BMO” to be released in April 2007 on La Fée Verte. !
Then they released a split with Crucial Section From Japan, The Patrons From France and Killin'it From US, and after a month in USA last summer they are now ready to play everywhere in europe with their new album "Let your Body Talk"

DOUG GILLARD (usa / Ex-Guided By Voices) // w/ Lady Jane (Rennes / Beast Rds) - Le 19 novembre à la Lanterne
Vétéran de la scène indie rock US des 80's et 90's, guitariste émérite; notamment aux côtés de Robert Pollard, véritable gourou lo-fi avec ses fameux Guided By Voices, Doug Gilard est un artiste rare et trop méconnu mais incroyablement talentueux. Accompagné sur scène par un backing band taillé spécialement pour ses compositions pop acérées, Doug Gillard sera en concert le jeudi 9 novembre à La Lanterne à Rennes, avec en première partie le blues psyché et torturé des rennais de Lady Jane.
Un concert exceptionnel à ne rater sous aucun prétexte!
