During the 80's, THRUSTER was one of Cincinnati's premier Heavy Metal bands. Along with CJSS, CHASTAIN, PRIZONER and AFTERSHOCK, the band played to packed houses all over town including Bogart's, Annie's, and Never on Sundays. They opened up for such greats as FASTWAY, SAXON, OVERKILL, Ted Nugent and KEEL. In 1985 they released the single "Back in Time" with the flipside "Excellorater". The single went on to become one of the most requested tunes ever released by a local Metal band. The album M.I.A. was released in early 1987 and featured the current line up: Dell McFarland, Russ Willoughby, Clark Connley, Greg Hilvers, and Jimmy Brink. THRUSTER disbanded in 1989 but, in July 2005, a reunion show at Cincinnati's River Saloon proved that THRUSTER fans are alive and well as the band played to a sold out crowd. Since then, THRUSTER has played with Ted Nugent, Brett Michaels and, with NAKED TRUTH, co-headlined The Spencer Jacobs Benefit Concert. A new album, "Forever Thruster" is also in the works. Stay tuned,..
A great time St. and the best moment of the day was having MR. K introducing you!! Classy touch, kinda like he spoke from Heaven as he was watching down on US!!!!!!!
A memorial fund has been set up for our good friend and brother, Ken "Mr. K" Glidewell at all Fifth Third Bank locations in the Tri-State area under The Mr. K Memorial Fund/Abby Marcum. Please pass along this info. Thanks!
R.I.P. Ken "Mr. K" Glidewell Cincinnati rock would be nothing without your support! Local bands playing this weekend should donate their pay to his family for medical and funeral expenses! It's the least we can do for what he has done for local music. We love you Wendy; rock "Big Hair" out tomorrow for him! God Bless, Dell & Lisa
