Music
Infinite. Vital. Liberating. Immortal.
I FULLY believe that the majority of music worth listening to was made before I was born.
If you really want to talk music and what I dig, we can. I can go for hours. Music has lifted me from the deepest pits of darkness in my life, and has given me more inspiration than anything else...it never leaves you.
If you honestly don't care that much, just enjoy these photographs of a few artists I enjoy, and move on.
Movies
Trainspotting, Natural Born Killers, Being John Malkovich, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, anything Sarah Silverman or Dave Chappell, Waking Life, Gummo, Julien-Donkey Boy, Donnie Darko, Mermaids, But I'm a Cheerleader, The Wedding Singer, Pineapple Express, A Clockwork Orange, Party Monster, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, A Life Aquatic, Wristcutters: A Love Story, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Ab Fab DVDs, ...and all this other shit.
My body is 22 but my soul is far older. That's the way it's always been.
I'm real. I think that I think more than most people. I'm opinionated, but I'm going to respect you despite your opinions and how they differ from mine. Unless you're a racist or a Nazi or something whack like that. I have no patience for that shit, especially violence and prejudice. Fucking get over yourself. Open your mind. Free yourself from ignorance. I'm eager to learn, to know, to do, to see, and to grow more wise. I have alot to say, and usually people have alot to say about me. Depending on who you ask, you may hear any number of things, good and bad. While some or all of what you hear may be true, I am not defined by any of those things individually, but they are all a part of me as a whole. My real name is Amanda. My display name is Be Life, and I leave that unchanged for two reasons. A) it's the first quotable thing I've ever coined myself, and B) just think about it, BE LIFE. What is life to you? And what part do YOU actually play in your own life, and the direction it's going? What defines life...breath, intelligence, a soul?...and how does life define you? Could you take life, and are you afraid to lose your own? Will you spend what is possibly our only time on earth searching for the meaning of life, or will you realize that You Are Life?
Think about it. Think about something.
I am also a vegetarian which means alot to me, but mainly my friends and family are meat-eaters, so I'm not a hater. My dietary beliefs reflect my spiritual and moral beliefs and I think that is how it should be with everyone else as well. Your life is your business, and so are your meals.
“All great things must first wear terrifying and monstrous masks in order to inscribe themselves on the hearts of humanity.”
-Friedrich Nietzsche
"Know how sublime a thing it is to suffer and be strong."
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
"The pioneers of a warless world are the youth who refuse military service." - Albert Einstein
"The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look upon the murder of men." -Leonardo DaVinci
"Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of police brutality. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive."
-I Have a Dream, MLK Jr.
"Keep you doped with religion, sex and T.V.
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still fucking peasants as far as I can see. A working class hero is something to be."
-John Lennon, Working Class Hero
"Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes."
-Abraham Lincoln
