Tim Mann, singer-songwriter & guitarist has been performing in the New England area since 1996. Originally from New York, Tim has produced a catalog of material that combines a love of traditional music with a cutting edge lyricism driven by strong imagery and a keen sense of melodic invention..
Tim's sound incorporates a love of traditional roots music combined with a modern rock twist that blends into a unique synthesis of melodic rock and Americana Folk. Whether solo or with a band Tim creates driving music with thoughtful lyrics to move the heart and chill out the soul.
Mann is on his third CD release, 'Distant Strangers'; his first full-length solo project. For this project, he has used the ukulele to perform a number of acoustic-based pop songs. He has also incorporated a lo-fi approach with professional sounding production. Mann used three different studios to record the project, including his own at home..
On 'Distant Strangers', Mann has some help from some of New England's finest musicians, including Greg Hawkes (The Cars) and Zack Hickman (Josh Ritter). As founding members of 'Ukulele Noir', a widely successful New England troupe, Hawkes and Mann have set a new standard for the little Hawaiian instrument. In 2006, they opened for Ukulele wizard Jake Shimabukuro.

Funny story: I almost cornered a gig in the Boston area for May, but alas it's D.C. instead. Alright, not so funny. In fact, it's quite a sad tale, for we were going to have birthday mojitos and pour some Henessey for our fallen brothers. In any event, happy upcoming bday. -jomannji
