Hello to you and welcome to the Tinyfish MySpace page.

Tinyfish are a London five piece band with a deep and abiding interest in all forms of progressive music.

Simon, Paul, Jim and Rob came together in the early naughties as an acoustic outfit playing the open mic spots of London. However as the band matured their material began to evolve into something altogether more progressive and complex. By 2005 the group took the decision to change their name, leave the acoustic scene behind and venture on as a full electric band.

All too aware of the size of the group's public profile in a genre that is home to some of the biggest names in rock, the band jokingly dubbed themselves Tinyfish and the name quickly stuck.

The group were keen to steer clear of as many progressive rock clichés as possible and decided not use any keyboards at all, instead taking the route that King Crimson chose using guitar synths and FX to obtain any sounds beyond the reach of their six strings.

Live, the band were joined by My Pet Junkie drummer and percussionist Leon Camfield and together, the band transformed itself from a gentle acoustic quartet into a frenzied electric quintet which was influenced as much by post punk bands like The Police and XTC as it was by their progressive roots.

In short, Tinyfish give their progressive sound a subversive shot in the arm, filled with musical guile and lyrical darkness.

The band have released two albums to date; Their eponymous debut and Curious Things. They are currently working on their third album which is due to release in November 2009.

In addition to their recorded output, Tinyfish are about to release a live album and DVD in September 2009 through Metal Mind Records. The show was recorded in Katowice, Poland and was played before a sell out crowd.

Tinyfish are proud to be part of a scene that boasts such musical heroes as King Crimson, Rush, Marillion and even Tom Waits but are content to remain a small group of friends who exist simply for the love of making progressive music, because:

We love what we do

We're proud of who we are

And we hope it shows.

Cheers from the boys in Tinyfish!

Hello once again. Your acoustic set at the Peel last Saturday was superb, Grandad Ramsay cracking out that harmonica was lush.

I have to immortalize on myspace something Leon said whilst we were chatting prog that night... something along the lines of:

"Theres prog, which is fine... then there are twats with capes and mellotrons, thats not so fine!"

I think hearing that made my night cos I couldnt agree more. Wise words indeed.

Can't wait to see you guys again, I'll be checking your page for gig updates and lark every now and then, take care guys.

Burleigh.

Thanks a lot for the add ! EletriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check EletriKa out!

Hugs from Brazil,

Cheers man. The last time I saw you guys was when you supported The Reasoning also at the peel. I was really looking forward to hearing Cinnamon which is one of my faves of yours... if not my full on favourite, and then Leons drumskin broke!

Thanks for checking out our prog by the way, and best of luck for Sat.

Would you really want to see The Flight of the Crown Hawk.....

Thanks for the invite to the Peel - I might be able to make it, though I'll be on holiday down near Bournemouth.

If you ever get to gig in Cambridge (or further north - Peterborough {hint hint}) let me know.

See you on the flipside...

Brilliant, I was contemplating that recently, just seemed Variax pickguard would need gouging, and I'm loathed to alter it.

Well done at CRF, very creative and successful set - will look forward to seeing Tinyfish again soon, (Any plans to play in Herts/Essex/London anytime in the near future?)

Kudos - Rob

Hi!

Thanks for the friendship.
Please allow me to introduce you to my band:

As rough as Paul Simon, as commercial as Ingmar Bergman and as clever as Britney Spears!

We might be straight, but not musically.
We are not at all tall.
In short,
