The Mother the Son and The Holy Ghost is one of the most touching recordings i have heard in a long time.Robin van Velzen songwriter and creative mind of the band paints his view of general deception called daily living in 13 relaxed but at the same time intense songs with the most personal lyrics he has ever written .
"Strip away the layers ,the layers of your soul and what remains is the essence and that s al we need to know"is a line in one of the songs and that also applies for the music.Everything revolves around the voice, guitar of Robin van Velzen and the ddrums of his long time musical partner Hans C Fuss.Once they played in a band called Bambi Davidson were they already experimented with the art of minimalisation .The Mother the son and the Holy Ghost is another step further in that direction but more song orientated than ever. The recordings were done in a live band situation inspired by Neil Young..s approach to rehearse and record at the same time. Soundig folky ,rough, impetuous.and leaving the listener purified .Musical help they got from Betty Mugler (vocal and piano) Tobias Helmlinger (bass) Criss Koch (samples and guitar ) and christian Eberts (piano ,organ)
Robin van Velzen is already recording songs for his new album and he will not stop until the lightning will strike upon his old dutch shoes!!!!!!!!
