About me: The Tennessee Equality Project was formed in June 2004 to fight the marriage discrimination amendment as it was making its way through the Legislature. We are a 501(c)(4) organization that lobbies the General Assembly and local governments on issues affecting the GLBT community.
Our Shelby County Committee helped pass a non-discrimination resolution protecting county employees on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in June 2009. We are currently working on non-discrimination ordinances in Metro Nashville and the City of Memphis.
We were active in the Proposition 8 rallies around Tennessee in November 2008. Take a look at this video of what we learned about Tennessee politics at the Nashville rally.
IT'S TIME! We need to turn the corner from fighting negative legislation to advancing positive protections for our community. To learn how you can help with our campaign, take a look at this basic video.
