Named in honor of a sketch by the Monty Python comedy troupe, this 4-piece band of Santa Barbara, CA high school cronies came to be known as Toad the Wet Sprocket in 1986. To this day, their mellow, melodic folk-pop sound made them one of the most successful alternative rock bands of the early 1990s.

Dean:
Dean just finished composing and performing his first movie score for the independent film "Desertion". Dean also wrote and performed 3 new songs for the film. Todd Nichols produced and recorded the score as well as 2 of the new songs. Dean also is the current manager for Toad the Wet Sprocket.

First; let me just say very unhappy I am about Toad the Wet Sprocket's album 'Pale' being pulled. I haven't checked all sites, but if the amazon and iTunes no longer have it (not Napster); you bet the bank no one else does, either. This is one of my favorite Toad albums, and yesterday night I was all right to download it. BUT NOOOO!!! It's not there. It's not even available for streaming here on myspace. I have one song. ONE LITTLE SONG from that album. That's all I own. I got last month, not knowing the thing would be got a month later.
This is from my latest blog "More Songs That Inspire Me 4", for which I post the lyric for "High On a Riverbed". This song has a lot of meaning for me. It gave my hope when times were bad.

There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
