Toah Dynamic came about in 1996 when the nascent Invisible Spies organisation convened in a remote shed with some barely functioning recording equipment. The result was the "Hip Hop Gymkhana" EP issued on the pre-Spies label C.U.Next Tuesday.

Recordings continued sporadically and in numerous locations until the debut album Movement was completed in 2000 and became the inaugural release for the newly formed Invisible Spies label.

The distribution of the album was handled by a Manchester based record shop that soon reported a surprisingly strong reaction in Germany and the U.S.

Invisible Spies followed Movement with two simultaneously released E.P.s entitled Harvest Festival and Son Of A Copper. Recorded in the newly constructed Spies recording facility, the band undertook their first live dates in Sheffield and London in support of these two releases.
