“What are these rhythms if not wild screams that release from our souls the rage and the recklessness that were planted into us when we were born?”
(1997) Cátia Godinho – 17 years old – Tocá Rufar member
What is Tocá Rufar? Why is it that Tocá Rufar attracts thousands and thousands of children, teenagers and adults, coming from every social layer and every culture?
Could it be the Sounds of Utopia?
Rui Júnior – musician, painter, artist. Irreverent, restless soul, dreamer – the founder of this Project that doesn’t stop growing, is also unaware of some of the reasons that explain the Tocá Rufar phenomenon. What motivates thousands of people, in Portugal and abroad, to cherish and support this initiative since 1996? What gift is this that transforms things and people and allows them to reveal their fascinating beauty?
“Tocá Rufar is much more than the work of one man.” – Rui Júnior says – “Men have limitations, dreams do not.”
