Influences
Heartache. Happiness. The sounds you hear late at night when you're lying in bed and you're not sure if you are really awake or just dreaming. God. The feeling you get when the sun starts to rise and it's just so beautiful that you hurt inside.
Sounds Like
The way you have always truly felt inside but have never been able to tell anyone.
To Light a Fire is a five piece indie/alternative band from Birmingham, Alabama. Its sound has been compared to bands such as Radiohead, Coldplay, and U2. Since coming together as a complete unit in the summer of 2008 the band has already made a name for itself, regularly playing at various venues in the Birmingham area. Besides being featured on Warning Track Records, a compilation of bands from the Birmingham area, To Light a Fire has also performed at the Birmingham Folk Festival and the Moss Rock Art Festival. After releasing their self-titled EP in January 2009, they have built a loyal and ever growing following. Later that January, at Bottletree Café, they won the Alabama region of the International Music Festival. After nearly a year of performing music it is clear that big things lie ahead for this Birmingham-based band.
You all sounded amazing yesterday at Samford! I mean, the entire atmosphere in the room changed when you began to perform! I'm so glad that you came to play for us, and I hope to hear you again! How long have you been together?
Hey guys, this is Dylan. It's been ages! I'm glad to see you got a group of good musicians to play with. And, seriously, your music has come a long long way since this summer! This stuff is great! January 31st at Bottletree... We'll be seeing you there!
