Tom Jones returns with a remarkable new album ‘Praise and Blame’, a collection of songs that examines choice and responsibility via a musical journey through the traditional spiritual repertoire.

This landmark album comes in the legendary singer’s 70th year, a glowing achievement in what has been a ground-breaking, unpredictable roller-coaster of a 45-year career. The songs are taken from repertoire that includes American traditional, gospel and country, seeing Tom going back to his roots and creating a truly evocative musical work, aided and abetted by producer/musician Ethan Johns.

Tom says of ‘Praise and Blame’: “It’s food for thought, it’s real, it’s natural, and in that sense it’s truly me.”

I feel kind a tied…and bound I feel pegged to the ground I feel I have no choice… It must be true I guess I’ve given away all my power I feel powerless   I have tried to stand apart But I didn’t speak loud I got pulled in to the mass I followed the crowd   Like lemmings running fast Not wanting to miss or lose time I found falling… an easier option Than to carry on with the climb   I let others rule my life… I wasted so many days and years What’s left… are mere pieces Of all that was once here   I didn’t voice my opinion… I didn’t think they would count Slowly losing all my opinions I lost the whole amount…   I let others decide for me What dreams to throw away… what dreams I should dream? Compromising my self esteem Now I have no self esteem   I danced to deadlines Which some one else always set There were alternatives But I haven’t exercised one yet…   We all have free will But some tie it in chains… Respecting yourself above all Is one cure to feeling…walking lame…? Don’t let your circumstances… Be the music for all your dances… That’s how most fighting spirits become tame   There are always alternatives You have options …at your option to use How you think at a crossroad or a bend Will decide whether you win or you lose

    Mr. Jones,
I have been a fan from the days you were on TV here in the states and I loved every thing you did then. I even had about five, 8 Trac tapes of yours at the time and I ruddy well played them to death and beyond and singing along with you was easy for me!
My Grandsire was from England and voices of roughly that area are very easy for me to sing along with. Do not ask me why, they just are and your voice is the easiest to sing along with for me!

I just ran into the video you did of "Baby It's Cold Outside." I took the female lead and it ruddy well took me five or six tries, but I got back into the swing of your voice and I nailed that song to the flipping wall and put my name on it!
As far as I am bloody well concerned, this is the best version of this song out there and it should not be relegated to a Christmas song!

You make one good looking Devil and if I were in Miss. Cerys Matthews shoes, I WOULD BE BLOODY WELL SUNK TO THE LOWEST RING OF HELL! And, IT WOULD BE FLIPPING WELL WORTH IT!

I forgot to add that if I ever got the chance to see a live show of yours, I would be proud & honored to sing "Baby It's Cold Outside" with you in the same format as the video. No audience needed. Just you & I & just for fun! BUT! I would like a tape or DVD of our performance just so I could have it to sing with as I wish to!

Would you be up for that Sir?
